POLK COUNTY — from www.baynews9.com – Seventy-eight suspects were arrested during an undercover prostitution sting in Polk County.

The suspects range from a porn star, to a retired commercial airline pilot to a man who’s graduating from the police academy this week.

“We had an internet technology person who was contracted with the City of Lakeland. We had a micro-biologist, we had a retired American Airlines pilot,” said Sheriff Grady Judd.

Judd said Jeremiah Hintz, 32, is graduating from the police academy in Highlands County on Wednesday.

“So, he thought he was going to be a law enforcement officer,” Judd said. “Well, maybe he was celebrating early when he showed up last weekend.”

Judd said his sting even netted a porn star.

“We were really honored that we had a real life porn star,” Judd said.

“Now she’s the owner of Asia’s World. She’s been in a 174 different porn movies.”

Some of the 78 arrests were for charges other than prostitution.

For example, that porn star, 26-six-year-old Dalavone Keobandith, aka ‘Asia’, is only facing marijuana-related charges.

Polk sheriff’s detectives captured undercover video of the three day sex sting at a local motel.

Judd said the video shows a retired pilot, 58-year-old Glenn Westfall, paying $150 to an undercover detective for unprotected sex.

“Many of those that were married wanted to and paid more thinking they were going to have unprotected sex with these prostitutes,” Judd said.

Both Hintz and Westfall are charged with solicit prostitution.

Judd said they targeted online ads from various websites for prostitution and even created some fake ones to go after the ‘Johns’.

Judd said almost three dozen suspects told detectives they were unemployed and 14 of those suspects are receiving government assistance.

“We’re working to pay tax money so that they can take the federal assistance that your tax money and buy prostitutes with it. How’s that for a victimless crime?” Judd said. “Your tax money for their sexual pleasure and it just drives me out of my mind when I think about it.”

Judd promises to conduct another online sex sting in the near future.

“Let the word go forward, this is not our last operation, ’cause we like it,” he said.

The sting began last Thursday and ended Sunday night.
