from www.lasvegassun.com – All-around porn princess Asa Akira is unashamed and unabashed about loving her wild and outrageous onscreen adult-movie career. This year, she tops all of her sexual shenanigans co-hosting the 30th anniversary AVN Awards at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday.

“I have so much fun with sex onscreen. I do everything,” said the “Insatiable” star who cleaned up at last year’s awards with trophies for eight sex scenes, surpassing the seven she took home in 2011.

Her winning body-part categories can’t be referenced here, but suffice to say, they range from Best Tease Performance to Best Group Sex Scene to Best All Sex Release. She received a standing ovation last year — and a ton of laughs — when she thanked a rear body part for putting up with her acrobatic achievements.

The New Yorker who is Japanese-American has skyrocketed to adult-film success. At 5’2,” her exotic looks, sexy curves and wild sex scenes have made her a pint-sized powerhouse and given her an extraordinary fan following. The “Insatiable” series also has led to her nickname, Insatiable.

As she prepared her wardrobe and packing for the Adult Entertainment Expo that opens here Wednesday and continues through Saturday’s “Oscars of Porn,” Asa told me: “It is so flattering to be invited to host. I remember the first year I got into porn, Jenna Haze and Belladonna were hosting the AVN Awards. I remember being there and thinking, ‘Wow, these girls have really made it.’

“It really is such a high honor to be asked to host the awards. It is the biggest; it is the Oscars of our industry. Being a girl, the first thing I thought of when I was invited was, ‘What am I going to wear?’ I got one dress while on vacation in Europe and then bought more in New York. I’m prepared and ready with three outfit changes.

“I’m very happy about what we’ll do Saturday, but it’s 50-50 being between nervous and excited. I am so excited to go up onstage and host the awards in front of all my co-workers, but I am also nervous I am going to trip over my dress or mess up the words.”

Asa is nominated for 15 awards — Performer of the Year and Best Website are the only two family-friendly ones I can mention — and she can win as show host.

She told me: “I definitely have seen past hosts winning. I also think when you are asked to host the awards, it means you are at the top of your game, at the height of your career, so it makes sense that the hosts are nominated, as well.”

She will be signing at the Elegant Angel booth for three hours a day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Her first two films in the “Insatiable” trilogy won several awards, and she’s hoping the third, which is nominated in multiple categories this year, will be the big winner. She got into porn after being discovered by Bubba the Love Sponge on Sirius when Howard Stern joined the network.

“I was at a strip club dancing in New York, so in a sense I was already in the adult entertainment world. I quit stripping to join the radio show, but I didn’t really see it as comedy. I was just kind of going with the flow, and it seemed interesting. I never danced in Las Vegas, but I have many connections to Sin City because of my work.”

Asa’s co-host is former Hawaiian Tropic beauty Jesse Jane, and we’ll have our interview with her Wednesday as AEE opens its first day strictly for trade. Fans get to tour starting Thursday.

Coincidentally, Jesse also is 5’2.” Asa said: “I don’t know her exact height, but she is definitely short. I notice when other girls are short because, as a short person, you see that immediately. We are pint-sized and really pack a punch!

“It is funny because whenever people meet me in person, one of the first things they tell me is, ‘Wow you are so short, you are so much shorter than I had imagined.’ I think it is because the guys in porn, our male performers, also are short. So, in comparison, I think that I look like an average-height person, but onscreen you always look taller. It’s the angles because they shoot from down low, but the guys being short helps, too.

“I really love what I do onscreen. Honestly, … what’s not to love?! I have always been a really sexual person. I am living out my fantasy. I have always wanted to be in the industry. I grew up listening to Howard Stern, so porn has always been glamorized in my head. As weird as it sounds, I always knew I wanted to be a part of this world.

“I get to have casual sex with a variety of people, and I get to do things that I never would have been able to do in my personal life. You can’t print some of the things I do. Well, maybe you can say gangbangs. I get to do it with safe, tested people in a controlled environment. To me, it is the ideal situation. If I hadn’t done porn, I would always look back and think, ‘Man, I wish I did that.’ ”

Asa celebrates her fifth year in porn in March. I had to ask how long she’ll keep on, ahem, trucking. “I don’t really have a set amount of time. When I got in, I thought I would do it for a couple of years to get it out of my system. Now, I am going to stop doing it when it stops being fun. It is still fun, so I don’t really see a reason to quit.

“The awards show will be a fun fashion night. Ever since I got into porn, I don’t dress quite as slutty as I used to. I think there’s something about being in porn and showing my inner organs on a daily basis to the world — I don’t feel the need to show so much cleavage or any of that, so they are not over-the-top sexy.

“My first dress, the long gown, is a Cavalli dress. It is just all black, really beautiful and elegantly sexy, and then my two dresses after that are really fun, kind of glittery, Vegas nightclub party time — but nothing that revealing.”

Asa says that she loves Las Vegas and the day will come when she will get married here. “I’m going to take some time out when I am in Vegas and check out your wedding chapels. I will know when the day comes to stop being the ever-single porn star and will just rush over and get married.”
