Former jail supervisor and Ohio county settle lawsuit over alleged office porn viewing

LEBANON, Ohio — A former southwest Ohio jail supervisor fired after being accused of accessing porn sites while at work has ended his federal lawsuit with an undisclosed settlement.

Former Lt. Shaun Wells was one of seven employees of the Warren County sheriff’s department accused in 2006 of accessing unauthorized Internet sites.

Wells sued, claiming that officials discriminated against him because he had a sexual addiction and that he should have been allowed to keep his job while he received treatment.

His lawsuit sought unspecified compensation for loss of employment, retirement benefits and health care benefits, and more than $100,000 in punitive damages.

Attorneys say terms of the settlement are confidential.
