from www.nydailynews.com – Former Yankee outfielder Chad Curtis was found guilty of inappropriately touching three teenage girls Friday by a West Michigan jury.
The pinstripe perv was convicted on six counts of criminal sexual conduct and could face up to 15 years in prison.
Curtis, 44, was accused of touching two 15-year-old girls last year when he was a volunteer weight-room strength trainer at an area high school. His duties included massage therapy for muscle rehabilitation. He was arrested in May 2012.
A 16-year-old girl later told authorities that he touched and fondled her in 2011.
“We give these young ladies so much credit for their courage,” Barry County Prosecutor Julie Nakfoor-Pratt told MLive.com after the verdict. “It took a lot of courage to testify.”
Curtis, who won two World Series rings with the Yankees, played for several teams during his nine-year MLB career.
He started in 1992 then-California Angels, and then later played for the Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Texas Rangers. He won the World Series with the Yankees in 1998 and ’99. He’ll be sentenced Sept. 26, the judge said.
