from www.pjstar.com – A Mossville woman was ordered held on $15,000 bond for allegedly having sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy.
Kayla M. Trueblood, 22, of 10306 Moss St. said little during the five-minute hearing where she was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Her attorney, Dick Williams, agreed to the $15,000 bond and Judge David Brown set a Jan. 3 preliminary hearing.
She posted bail and was released from Peoria County Jail on Wednesday.
As part of her bond, Trueblood is barred from having any contact with the victim and his family.
Trueblood is on paid administrative leave from her job as a teacher at Mossville Junior High and Elementary School. The allegations, prosecutors have said, don’t involve a student of hers but believe at least one of the sexual acts occurred on school grounds after hours.
Williams said his client was a good student and a good teacher. The allegations, he said, were “out of character” for the woman, who graduated summa cum laude from Eureka College.
If convicted, she faces up to seven years in prison or up to four years of probation.
