Kimberly Kane: “Every girl in the country is trying to get into porn or on ‘Jersey Shore'”

Who was the porn chick that was hooking at a $1,000 a pop during the convention?

from www.lvrj.com – If you go online, it seems as if the number of women in porn has multiplied to the tens of thousands and stars actual housewives and girls-next-door, if you count amateurs. Porn director/actress Kimberly Kane agrees.

“Every girl in the country is trying to get into porn or on ‘Jersey Shore,'” the director said. “Standards have fallen in the entertainment industry, haven’t they? Well, they’re more than welcome to come to our business. I’ll shoot ’em — if they’re cute.”

Kane told me that Saturday night at the Palms, where the English-speaking world of professional porn actors came together for the Adult Video News Awards.

The show in the Pearl theater was just as glitzy as other awards shows, but was more of a ribald tickle.

When Sasha Grey won a certain award, she said, “Can someone remind me who the guy was in this film?”

Other winners said things like, “It was a party in my mouth!”

A woman in the crowd got up to leave, and comedian-host Dave Attell indignantly joked: “I didn’t know we had a Christian here!”

(Attell’s killer punch line: “I saw my first gay porno — ‘New Moon Twilight.'”)

When the awards ended happily three hours later around midnight — after girl-girl makeout sessions, sleek video montages of porn and Cirque-like aerialists — several hundred gawkers swarmed at the theater exit to glimpse actors. These weren’t just guy fans or scantily clad women. Plenty looked like that clichéd tourist type, “older couples from Ohio.”

The porn actors were in town for two events: the awards show, and the Adult Entertainment Expo porn convention at the Sands Expo.

While here, they did … things.

Last week, Jessica Drake posed for photos, standing “in the middle of the Strip,” she told me. Was she naked?

“I refuse to answer that question on the grounds I might incriminate myself.”

Vanilla DeVille performed in scenes filmed at someone’s home.

An acquaintance of mine told me a friend of his paid a porn actress $1,000 for a two-hour romp at The Venetian (a bargain, I’m told).

And rumors abounded about orgies in hotel suites, as usual. Drake said it’s not always like that.

“I try to have sex with people by the end of the night. But (Friday night), we did a private party in a sky villa and it was a regular party. Not every porn party turns into a big orgy.”

Just before Saturday’s show, hundreds of porn actors lined a red carpet in a Palms backroom — for three hours. They mingled with more than 100 journalists from around the world, making this one of Vegas’ biggest media exposures of the year.

Even Palms owner George Maloof (noted dater of Playmates) seemed to be drowning in the sea of porn pros, whom he found to be extremely pleasant. I asked him if he brought extra hand sanitizer.

“It’s funny you ask that. I had some,” he said.

Maloof’s publicist, Larry Fink, said porn stars were “low maintenance” to work with, compared to various celebrities who frequent Vegas hotels.

So who are the people who slip into professional porn these days? Among new actresses at the Palms: a former Miss USA; a daughter of a once-famous lead actor; an ex-wife of an NBA starter; Lorenzo Lamas’ ex-wife Shauna; and a former Atlanta Hawks dancer.

The dancer, Briana Blair, is in her fourth porn month and loving that she experienced her first, uh, something-something on a film set.

“These porn guys know what they’re doing!” she told me. “It kind of freaked me out at first, like, ‘What just happened?'”

Sasha Grey, 21, was the new self-made superstar. Why her? The man who discovered her (Mark Spiegler) explained:

“There’s no hang-ups. There’s no drugs. She’s got a perfect body. She looks like a model. She does everything (asked of her sexually). No tattoos. And she’s really intelligent and mature for her age. When you talk to her, you think this chick is 30 years old.”

In other words, Grey kind of pulled off most things grown-ups tell kids to do (even though she’s not tight with her parents): She got smart; she avoided drugs; she didn’t get ink-stained; and she became a dedicated, hard worker. Bonus: She’s nice to strangers.

Another pro in the room was Evan Stone. You may know Stone and his long blond hair from all his softcore “Skinemax” movies, which run on Cinemax so often, he’s like the king of Cinemax.

Stone told me he once ran into Eddie Van Halen at a party, and Van Halen was envious in a way.

“He just likes the fact that porno people can go out and have sex wherever they want. But when you’re famous,” Stone said, “even though you have more money and resources to do something like that, you can’t get away with it, because of the career thing.”

Speaking of celebrities’ not getting away with random sex: Tiger Woods. Right this second, Stone is co-starring in two new porn parodies on the market. He portrays men fictionally bedding Woods’ wife in “Tiger’s Got Wood” and “Tiger’s Wood XXX.”

And according to wholly unsubstantiated gossip, the real Tiger would be thrust into porn if rumors were true, that a porn producer owns a Tiger sex tape.

“I don’t want to talk about that,” a producer at the root of hearsay snapped at me.

But he and I did talk about the hypothetical notion of a porn company trying to verify a naked image of Tiger Woods, without knowing what Tiger looks like naked.

“I don’t know how you verify,” the producer said. “What would you compare it to?”

Then the producer gave a curious nod: “Keep watching. We’ve got some good stuff coming. I don’t want to say. Soon. Soon.”

With that, he stepped away with the delight of a sprite, to rejoin all the porn actors who, with their splitting town today, will make the everyday Strip seem quainter.
