SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — from www.tahoedailytribune.com -Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini confirmed this week that South Shore lawyer Michael Laub has approached him regarding the licensing that would be required to establish a strip club inside the building once occupied by Bill’s Lake Tahoe Casino.
The casino shut its doors on Jan. 4.
Laub was concerned about whether or not a strip club would be approved by county commissioners, Pierini said.
The lawyer previously tried to start a strip club on Kingsbury Grade, but was denied following public pressure, Pierini said.
Public intoxication, fights, drug use and prostitution are law enforcement concerns associated with strip clubs, Pierini said.
“I think if this project ever were to go forward, certainly my recommendation, almost demand, would be that they employ a highly professional security team,” Pierini said.
Laub did not return a request for comment last week.
