from www.digitalspy.com – Lindsay Lohan is reportedly channeling the performances of Old Hollywood stars for her upcoming film The Canyons.

Lohan is starring opposite James Deen in the Bret Easton Ellis-written drama, about hedonistic young people in Los Angeles.

Director Paul Schrader has reported on the first week of filming on his Facebook account, praising the actress for her knowledge of classic Hollywood stars.

Schrader wrote: “Working with her every day on varied scenes, I’ve been making a mental checklist of classic movie performances she’s touched upon.

“There has been a lot of Ann-Margret, some Gena Rowlands and Faye Dunaway and of course some bits of Liz Taylor and [Marilyn] Monroe, as well as a little Rita Hayworth and even Gene Tierney.”

The Canyons is due for release in 2013.
