from www.queerty.com – While most internet piracy lawsuits are waged by powerful movie studios and record companies, popular porn site SeanCody is attempting to give the shaft to 122 users who couldn’t wait to get their sweaty hands on its first bareback film, Brandon & Pierce Unwrapped.
SeanCody’s parent company, 808 Holdings, LLC brought two porn BitTorrent suits to San Diego’s U.S. District Court this week, targeting 122 anonymous users accused of “unwrapping” the pirated movie after Christmas last year on two occasions, December 28 and 29.
“[A]ll defendants replicated and shared with each other the precise and exact same file and portions thereof in a completely interconnected and collective effort — dependent on one another to achieve their nefarious ends — to deprive plaintiff of the exclusive rights afforded to it via the Copyright Act,” the suit claims.
SeanCody is calling for ISPs to disclose the identities of the 122 porno pirates, who may be ordered to pay damages of up to $150,000. Though SeanCody is a virgin when it comes to federal copyright lawsuits, they certainly have a history of screwing people for money.
