HONG KONG (Dow Jones)–Playboy Enterprises Inc. (PLA) has canceled its plan to open an entertainment venue in Macau, eSun Holdings Ltd. (0571.HK), a shareholder in Playboy’s joint venture partner, said Thursday.
The Hong Kong-listed company didn’t say why Playboy had terminated the project.
Playboy, publisher of Playboy magazine, and Cyber One Agents Ltd. formed a joint venture in 2007 and planned to open the Playboy Mansion Macao this year.
eSun and U.S.-based New Cotai LLC each hold 40% of Cyber One Agents, which operates the Macao Studio City resort. Singapore developer CapitaLand Ltd. (C31.SG) owns the remaining 20%.
