from www.stltoday.com – An ex-Union Middle School teacher has been charged with having sexual contact with a student.
On July 9, a grand jury indicted Traci A. Storie, 37, of the 400 block of Segelhorst Road in Franklin County, on two counts of statutory sodomy and one count of witness tampering.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Lt. Charles Subke said Storie had sexual contact with a 13-year-old boy off school property in February.
The student was not in any of Storie’s classes, Subke said. The witness tampering charge stems from Storie’s allegedly talking with an adult who had been interviewed by detectives as part of the investigation.
Storie was a computer teacher at the middle school for the past four years and had worked in the Union R-XI School District since 1997 in various roles, said Judy Stivers, an assistant superintendent.
The district placed Storie on administrative leave Feb. 3 after learning of the allegations against her, Stivers said. Storie never returned to the classroom and resigned March 20.
Stivers said the district has received no other allegations against Storie.
Storie was booked at the Franklin County Jail on Tuesday and released after she posted 10 percent of a $25,000 bail.
