HOUSTON – from www.myfoxhouston.com – The past is coming back to haunt you on a whole new level via social media.

Crissy Moran’s life is completely different now, but you wouldn’t know it by what you see about her online. She went from porn to Born Again Christian.

Moran has a warning for you if you have even thought about sending a naughty picture of yourself.

“It does last forever and you can’t take it back,” Moran said.

She knows all too well how social media has a way of magically making your past replay every day of your life. She is a vision of beauty and has the pictures to prove it, but the photos Crissy Moran is known for do not depict who she is now.

“I would love for all the images to come down and for the porn industry to go away,” she said.

She was an Internet porn actress for years but gave her life to God in 2006.

“Jesus plays a large role in my life now. I do public speaking, so I go to churches and colleges,” she said.

She has dedicated her life to helping other women avoid taking the path she did.

“Even taking a photo of yourself and sending it to one person, it can be out there forever and millions of people can see it,” she said.

Others are still making money off of the pornography she made. She isn’t earning and doesn’t want one cent from it. She would just like the vulgar videos to go away.

“Unfortunately, when you make a choice to do porn, it’s a business like any other business and they have all their bases covered. You have contracts. I have modeling releases for each and every shoot that I did that they can use it, reproduce it, sell it,” she said.

The former porn star said you don’t have to have a certain job for pictures from your past to come back to haunt you.

“There was a girl in Canada who sent out one picture. It got out all over and she ended up committing suicide.”

She is referring to British Columbia teenager Amanda Todd whose topless photo went viral. She killed herself soon after.

The work Moran is doing now is with a faith-based support and outreach group called Treasures. It’s far from the broken life full of abuse, drugs and low self-esteem she once led.

“I think porn destroys families. It takes men away from relationships,” she said.

She said for the first time in her life, she knows what love is.

“Sex and love were usually the same thing in my world. So being with a man who has respected me in that way has been very important in my life,” she said, smiling.

She is engaged to a man who does youth ministry.

“Being with a man who respects me and sees me for more than a sex object is very healing,” she said.

It appears the girl who got her start far from a fairy tale beginning will have her happy ending after all.

“We’ve been abstinent which is a very new thing in my life,” she said, smiling.

Moran now lives in Houston. If you would like her to speak to her group, she can be reached at [email protected].
