RIVERSIDE – from www.myvalleynews.com – Deputies in the Jurupa Valley just west of Riverside recently targeted local cash-for-sex customers who allegedly tried to hook up on the internet and arrested five people, a sheriff’s sergeant said today.
They dubbed their crackdown a prostitution “out call” program and they went to work Thursday, perusing Internet sites where people solicit sexual favors in exchange for money, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Gene McKinney.
Deputies randomly called men and women with telephone numbers provided on the Web sites, McKinney said. After reaching agreements for specific services, the subjects arrived at a pre-designated location, McKinney said.
Three women and one man were arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor soliciting prostitution and booked at Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, McKinney said.
The four were identified as Taheedah Forrest, 20, of San Diego, Denise Jennifer Manriquez, 31, of Chino, Thomas Wayne Starner, 45, of Ontario, and Tahlia Smith, 28, of Menifee, McKinney said. The four remained locked up today on $2,500 bail each, according to jail records.
A 20-year-old Lake Elsinore man was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended license.
Jurupa Valley deputies plan to conduct more prostitution “out call” programs in unincorporated areas of Riverside County, McKinney said.
