from www.suntimes.com – Playboy Enterprises today promoted Alex L. Vaickus to the new position of president, giving him responsibility for print, television and digital media properties as well as licensing.
Vaickus, who now serves as executive vice president of Playboy Enterprises and president of global licensing, will continue to report to CEO Scott Flanders, who himself was hired July 1.
Flanders called Vaickus “an effective steward of our brand” in Vaickus¹ role as president of the licensing business. In the role for nine years, Vaickus oversaw the Licensing Group’s “substantial growth in revenues and profits,” Flanders said in a statement.
Playboy also announced that Scott G. Stephen, executive vice president of Playboy Digital, has been named executive vice president of the print/digital group. His responsibilities will expand to cover the print publications, including Playboy magazine, special editions and specialty titles.
Playboy has come under increasing financial pressure as its namesake magazine and its entertainment divisions have seen declining revenues.
