SEATTLE — A Seattle strip club racketeering case has been set for trial on Jan. 10, 2011, later than the government wanted but sooner than defense lawyers asked.
U.S. District Judge Richard A. Jones noted the absence of the principal defendant, Frank Colacurcio Sr., before hearing from lawyers Thursday and deciding on a trial date.
Colacurcio, his son, four associates and three strip club-related businesses were indicted June 30 on charges of racketeering, money laundering, mail fraud and prostitution conspiracy. All have pleaded innocent.
His ex-wife, Jackie Colacurcio, told the judge via speaker phone he had been in severe pain and doctors were on the way. Defense lawyer Irwin H. Schwartz says Colacurcio collapsed at his arraignment in July and has been in the hospital three or four times since then.
