Signs of the Times? Hustler Hollywood closes Uptown Minneapolis store

from Hustler Hollywood, which had to fight local opposition to open a store in Minneapolis’ Uptown neighborhood, is packing up after 17 months.

The Southwest Journal reports that the sex-oriented store, part of Larry Flynt’s pornographic magazine business, closed its location at 2405 Hennepin Ave. S. The report says Hustler Hollywood will relocate, but hasn’t given a future address.

The store opened in August 2011 over the objections of area residents. The city said there wasn’t much it could do as the store complied with zoning.
