Stephen Baldwin After Some Haggling-update

Porn Valley- KSEX fans had to wait about an hour before actor Stephen Baldwin made his appearance on The Wanker Show Monday night.

That’s because Baldwin was haggling about signing model releases- an issue you’d figure would have been settled by VH1 and KSEX long before Baldwin came into the Burbank studio. In the mean time, Wankus carried on, noting that Baldwin had been on the Adam Carolla Show earlier in the day and, subsequently, gave a nice plug to Adultfyi for covering that story. Wankus also took AVN to task for giving scant publicity to Baldwin’s being on KSEX, and co-host Tyler Faith commented that AVN doesn’t apparently like it when they don’t get the story first, citing an instance involving a Jill kelly story which broke on KSEX first.

While all this was going on, Baldwin came to an accord with an agreement that allowed for audio but no video coverage of his KSEX appearance. Before Baldwin even opened his mouth, certain hypocrisies about his ministry became evident when business dealings were dragged into play.

Wankus asked Baldwin about the apparent haggling and Baldwin explained something about him being there on business that is multi-media for another company.

“I don’t have the authority and that’s not a snow job,” said Baldwin. “I literally don’t have the authority to allow you to use visual images of me in this format. It’s when you guys are saying to me sign this thing, let’s just do whatever we want. It’s the same thing back and forth.”

“The company that has those restrictions- aren’t they the people that called me and asked to have you on the show?” Wankus asked. Baldwin agreed with what Wankus said and Wankus couldn’t see where it made sense, then.

“You have the authority with your show to grant that approval- I don’t,” replied Baldwin in double-speak. “And mind you, if I could make the call, I would. I just would hate for an image to get released then a boatload of guys who make a million dollars a second coming after your ass.”

Wankus laughed, citing the rules of Lawsuit 101, “Sue people with money. Believe me, we’ll get a cease and desist-that’s all we’re going to get. Just like when Budweiser called but that’s a whole other story.”

Wankus told Baldwin that his appearance on Carolla was re-capped on Adultfyi.

“It was fair with all the points being made,” Wankus told Baldwin. “Including that psycho caller [Shirley Phelps] that called in, and you guys had that little thing going back and forth.” Wankus then pointed out how Baldwin was known as the “drugged-out, party, drunken crazy fool.”

“It was a little bit more than that,” Baldwin conceded, noting that five years ago he became a Born Again Christian and decided to give that experience a try, thinking in his mind and heart it wasn’t going to make a difference.

As Adam Carolla mentioned in their earlier interview that people on skid row generally find Jesus, Baldwin went on to say that his decision wasn’t some kind of bottom, low road kind of deal.

“Things were pretty cool,” said Baldwin. “My wife had become a believer a year before me and it was really a result of my watching the experience she was having that just made me open enough to it to say, ‘Whatever this is- I’ll give it a try.'”

During the year before his transformation, Baldwin said his wife was praying for him. But, according to Baldwin, his wife never pushed it.

“She was smart enough to know that if she just did her own thing, it would probably make me curious,” he continued. “And women are really good at that.”

Baldwin, again using the adrenalin-junkie reference he used on Carolla, claimed he went to God and said, “Listen, dude, you better rock my world with this deal, because if you don’t, I’m going to everybody that you’re not true.”

Baldwin said he told that story to a little old lady in Chicago who asked him if he heard God laughing at him with the threats.

Wankus told Baldwin he respected him for his decisions.

“You found a place in your life that made you happy- it’s cool.” But he also pointed out that it’s one thing to find personal acceptance, another thing to make a ministry out of it. Baldwin said it began more like 13 years ago, then went on to tell the Brazilian cleaning woman story which he told on Carolla.

“Brazilian maids are the best,” chimed in Faith. Baldwin explained how they brought her in to work for them and when she explained to Baldwin’s wife that back in Brazil she got into a prayer group and someone there gave her a message from God.

“My wife gets saved- I follow a year later like almost a doubting Thomas,” Baldwin goes on to say. “Then I started doing some of these skate boarding videos with some Christian skateboarders that I know. After we make the skateboarding videos, churches across America start requesting myself and the athletes from the videos to come to their towns and do skate demos and be involved in ministry. That’s how I got involved in ministry.”

The point Baldwin was trying to make was that a stranger from Brazil 13 years ago told him something was going to happen.

“And it happened,” said Baldwin. “But the freaky part was it wasn’t that it happened, it was the way that it happened.” Accordingly, Baldwin said five years ago he said the prayer of salvation.

“That’s the first step you have to take to get into the experience and start to get into the knowledge of the experience.” At the same time, Baldwin said he wanted to prove God wrong.

“I’m going to read the bible every day, I’m going to pray every day- I’m going to be the best damn Christian there ever was because I don’t think it’s going to matter- I did all that. And the spirit of God came into my life, flipped me out, freaked me out. Now I’m an on-fire Born Again Jesus freak.”

Faith wondered if Baldwin’s wife was on drugs and partying as well. Baldwin said it was the total opposite.

“She was already very conservative and very mellow, sweet,” said Baldwin. “I was the freak. It was just one of those things where a seed had been planted in her heart and mind by this woman who worked for us. Over time she said I’m curious about this and I’m just going to give this a try. Once you do it a certain way and God’s spirit starts to really work in your life the way it’s supposed to, it’s the most powerful transformation you could ever experience.”

Wankus then asked Baldwin when he shot a movie called Spider’s Web. Baldwin said at least six years ago.

“I know you were going to try to bust me bro!” Baldwin laughed.

“I just was going to ask about your infatuation with porn star Monique Alexander,” Wankus chuckled. “But that was before you were saved.”

Wankus was curious if Baldwin’s message of “believe the way I believe or you’re going to hell- you’re a sinner; you’re in porn, you’re a bad person” was going to wash. Wankus also brought up the fact that Baldwin had tried to close down a porn store and thought to himself it must have been a slow movie time and Baldwin’s way of getting attention.

“Why would you do that? But I’m not jamming it down your throat that you better go to that adult bookstore and get the latest Team Tyler movie,” said Wankus. “You do what you do and I do what I do.”

Baldwin said he could be a real jerk by creating a hypothetical. Wankus told Baldwin to be his guest.

“The reason I wanted this store closed down,” said Baldwin. “This guy was not only selling books and videos, he had peep booths as well. Statistically, it’s a fact that certain types of individuals come around that specific type of store. “I’ll put it into the third party,” Baldwin continued. “Would you agree or disagree that it’s okay to have that kind of a place if it’s in a certain location, residentially, and somebody’s daughter gets raped because some dude came around that normally wouldn’t have if that store wasn’t there?”

Faith’s opinion was that someone going into a store like that would be inclined to jack off in the booth.

“I highly doubt that they’re going to rape somebody because they already got off,” she added.

Baldwin started whipping out some kind of “facts” that over 30 years there have been statistics collected in major cities where those types of sexual crimes occur because those places are open.

“Bro, I think it’s pretty common sense-logical that whoever’s into that, they’re going to go wherever it is to get down with it,” said Baldwin who claimed that the store in question was a mile away from a Christian college.

“Less than a football field behind them was a middle school and an elementary school,” he added. “My thing was, bro, we went to a town board meeting. We let the owners of the store know this- do what you got to do, bro, just don’t do it here. And they decided to fight it and they lost.”

From what she’s heard, Faith was of the opinion that most predators hang around middle schools, anyway. Baldwin said it wasn’t so much about a guy trying to run a porn store but him running the porn store in that location.

“I just thought it sucked that this guy chose that location,” said Baldwin who was willing to conceded that he was also living the dream.

“But God had really done something tangible, genuine, authentic and substantial in my life that’s real,” he continued. “I’m not out there judging people to the best of my ability. I know at times it sounds like that because Christianity has gotten such a bad rap.” Baldwin also referenced a party that he was throwing Thursday night.

“If you saw all the freakin’ gnarly skateboarders, and all the fun, tattooed-pierced Jesus freaks that I hang out with, you’d realize that there’s a new kind of breed of Christians that are coming up,” Baldwin said.
