from www.huffingtonpost.com – Move over, Sarah Palin. Serra Paylin, a porn star impersonating your hockey-mom sex appeal, is in town for the GOP Convention.

While Palin is noteably not attending the convention, Lisa Ann, a 38DD-ed porn actor who’s been cashing in since 2008 on her film “Who’s Nailin’ Paylin?,” flew into Tampa over the weekend to do her you-betcha thang for all the Republicans in town.

Ann, sporting Palin’s unmistakable up-do, wire-rimmed glasses and fitted business skirt suits, looks just like the former Alaskan governor and vice presidential candidate. That is, until she exclaims, “Sarah Palin is in the house tonight!,” and takes it all off, Gawker reports.

Ann, a 40-year-old certified dental assistant who alternates between homes in Los Angeles and New York, told AFP that she’s a big fan of her doppleganger. However, she added, “I don’t think she’s as thrilled with me as I am with her.”

“We live in a pretty recession-proof business,” she said. “I mean, it did definitely change things for a lot of people. But for myself, having the gift to play Sarah Palin during the crunch has been just incredible.”

She’s even been reading up on Palin’s life to try better embody the politician, she told the Tampa Bay Times.

Tampa sex clubs have been gearing up for the convention by hiring extra strippers, offering delegate discounts and decking their clubs–and women–with patriotic decorations. The strippers hope to make a lot more–$1,000 a night or even more–while the politicians are in town, 5 min reports.

Despite playing up Palin’s sexuality, Ann said she thinks politics and sex appeal should be separate. “Do you know how many guys at the airport have told me they voted for Palin because they thought she was hot? I tell them, ‘Don’t vote,” she told the Times.

Clearly, however, given Ann’s popularity, separating sex and state is hard to do–even in the party of “family values.” Apparently, Republicans outspend Democrats three-to-one at strip clubs during national political conventions, according to the Association of Club Executives, which represents 4,000 strip clubs. The group says members of the GOP, which has called for vigorous enforcement of anti-pornography laws, shell out on average $150 per person compared to $50 for Democrats.

So maybe Ann shouldn’t have admitted that she leans Democrat and has political views of her own. For one, she said that she thinks porn actors should be required to wear condoms on set and questioned the industry standards in light of its recent syphilis scare, the Washington Post reports.

As many as nine syphilis cases have recently been identified among Los Angeles porn performers, causing a 10-day moratorium on filming. LA officials also recently approved a ballot initiative that will ask voters to decide whether porn actors should be required to wear condoms on set.

Regarding the possibility of running for office like her alter ego, Ann commented to the Daily Mail, “I wouldn’t rule it out, but I don’t know if I could play it as shady as some politicians do.”
