from www.examiner.com – Before she became a porn star, Teagan Presley said she “had no idea what to expect.”
“I had zero exposure to adult before shooting my first scene, so it was all completely new to me,” Presley said in an e-mail interview with Examiner.com
Presley is one of the 16 porn stars interviewed in the new documentary, “Aroused,” which goes behind the scenes of the porn industry and reveals that the personal lives of some of the women involved.
Aside from Presley, other actresses interviewed include Alexis Texas, April O’Neil, Ash Hollywood, and Misty Stone. Director Deborah Anderson asks the 16 actresses about their family life; their religious upbringing; and many other questions about their lives before and since being in the porn industry. The film will release to VOD on May 2 and select theaters on May 3.
Presley is not one to openly discuss sex in public, due to it making her feel “uncomfortable,” she said. She described that feeling as being “weird for a porn star,” but the industry has made her more aware of sex.
“I was pretty meek and not sexually knowledgeable when I came in the business, and now I am pretty darn knowledgeable, but still pretty meek,” Presley said.
Some may think it might be difficult to date or be married to a porn star, but Presley said her husband, Joshua Lehman, “really doesn’t have a problem” with her profession.
“Plus, he’s a director in the business, so he sees it all the time,” she said.
Presley, whose real name is Ashley Erickson, got her stage name from her parents wanting to originally name her “Teagan” and as a tribute to Lisa Marie Presley. There have been a few times where “silly people don’t realize it is a stage name,” and they believe her to be a relative of Elvis Presley, she said.
Getting noticed in public by her fans has never been a bad experience, but Presley said it does feel “awkward” when she has her kids with her.
“It happened once at Disneyland, and a fan became very inappropriate while my kids were with me, and started taking pictures,” she said.
One of the things mentioned in “Aroused” is how the poor economy and many other factors have changed the porn industry, and it’s also seen a bit of a decline. Presley said that while times are changing for the business, porn “will not fade away,” but it will “transform.
“The business will eventually go all digital,” she said. “Digital download is the future – not tube sites or stealing porn.”
Presley added that this method will deliver adult entertainment “instantaneously” and in a “cost effective method.
With “Aroused,” Presley is hoping that those who watch it will see that porn stars are actual people and “not just sex robots or pin up dolls,” she said.
“We have families and feelings, and we are business women that succeed based off our intelligence, too, not just our looks or performance,” Presley said.
