Oregon – from www.oregonlive.com – Washington County authorities have identified three people who allegedly robbed two adult stores last month.
Two men have been arrested: Darren Michael Carmichael, 30, of Tualatin and Brian James Winebarger, 34, of Gresham. Authorities are still searching for a woman: Crystal Jo Allen, 27, of Hillsboro.
On Dec. 27, Allen and Carmichael allegedly robbed an adult video store in Portland with their faces covered by scarves an hour before robbing a similar store in Aloha, said Sgt. David Thompson, a spokesman for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Thompson said Winebarger is accused of driving the getaway car.
In addition, Carmichael was accused of robbing of the West Union Sports Pub in the community of Rock Creek in the early morning of Jan. 3.
Winebarger and Carmichael were arraigned on robbery charges this week in Washington County Circuit Court, Thompson said. He said a warrant has been issued for Allen’s arrest.
The two men were arrested Jan. 4 after detectives learned they were appearing in court on unrelated charges.
The threesome allegedly started their day at 4:43 a.m. by robbing the Adult Fantasy Video Store at 6440 SW Coronado St. in Portland, Thompson said. Carmichael allegedly threatened the clerk with a gun, Thompson said, before escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash. At 5:43 a.m., the Mr. Peeps Adult Super Store in Aloha was robbed under similar circumstances and descriptions of the suspects matched those from the earlier robbery.
Thompson said video evidence and a tip led to deputies identifying the suspects. A search of Carmichael’s car turned up cash, masks and guns, as well as methamphetamine and a pipe, he said.
Thompson said anyone with information regarding the three robberies or the suspects involved should call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 503-846-2500.
