Adam Wilcox posts on www.xxxwasteland.wordpress.com – After a career-making placement on the Playboy TV reality program Jenna’s American Sex Star hosted by XXX icon Jenna Jameson, Brea Bennett quickly became a favorite of adult fans nationwide. Following her run with Club Jenna, the stunning blonde starlet found herself under the employ of top industry studios such as Penthouse, Hustler, Adam & Eve and Vivid Entertainment.

While Bennett admits her fame and success came at an overwhelming pace, the actress recently returned to adult following a several-year absence and is excitedly resuming her on-camera performing career. The Arizona native’s current stint in porn circles includes roles for major companies Girlfriends Films, Babes and Twistys.

Brea kindly spoke with XXX Wasteland on the afternoon of July 18 to discuss her flourishing return to the adult industry and other topics.

Q: The first thing I’d like to say is welcome back to the adult industry after being away for a few years.

Thank you so much.

Q: If you don’t mind my asking, can you tell us what prompted your departure from the business?

I took some time off just to have some “me” time, really, and to experience life outside of the industry. I was basically from high school – I turned 18 and went straight into the adult industry – and I had a good run at it for quite a few years. I just wanted to take some “me” time to live a little, really.

Q: Right. And you were away for four years, is that right?

I’d say that, yeah – it was about a little over three or four years. But who’s counting? (Laughs)

Q: (Laughs) And what made you decide to come back to adult?

I missed it. I missed my fans and I enjoy being in front of the camera.

Q: I understand you have already filmed a whole bunch of scenes since returning.

Right. I’ve worked for Twistys, I’ve worked for Babes, Girlfriends Films. I’m doing girl/girl and solo and that’s what I’m available for, and I’m really enjoying it.

Q: Are there any studios or talent in particular that you wish to work with in the near future?

I’m not really sure. I’ve been so detached from the adult industry and even you know that within one month, everything can change – there are new girls, new companies. So, I don’t have a particular studio that I want to work with. (Laughs)

Q: Do you have any specific aspirations in mind for your career looking down the road?

Right now, I’m just going with the flow. I’m working on my website and I just want to keep my face and my name out there and be there for my fans because I know that they have missed me a lot. Their welcome back has been more than warm; it’s been really nice to have such a warm welcome back.

Q: Terrific. You mentioned your website – it is currently in the works?

It is, yes.

Q: I realize these things can be difficult to predict, but do you have sort of a timeframe for when you hope to have it launched?

I don’t. There was a timeframe at one point, but things have been put on hold for a little while. So, I don’t have an exact time, unfortunately. I wish I did. (Laughs)

Q: I understand that at one time you were heavily pursuing a music career. Is that something you are still moving toward?

I have not done very much music lately – but that doesn’t mean that it’s not in my future. (Laughs)

Q: And what kind of music do you perform?

I play acoustic guitar and sing, and I write my own stuff.

Q: Great. As many people are aware, you won Jenna Jameson’s reality show competition several years ago to win a contract with her company. Can you tell us about that experience?

Yeah. I was only three months into the business at that time – still a little baby – and I got booked for the Playboy show Jenna’s American Sex Star. There were 14 contestants; I got eliminated at one point, but Jenna had the opportunity to bring one girl back who was eliminated throughout the whole series and she brought me back. It was between, I think, Cody Milo and I or Tiffany Taylor. But I ended up winning a contract and I was with them for a year-and-a-half. Just to even be cast in that show and to actually win was really an amazing opportunity to build my name.

Q: Absolutely. It was certainly a very high-profile show.

Yeah!

Q: Is there one misconception about the adult business that you wish you could dispel?

Yeah, actually. (Laughs) It’s funny you ask that. I recently had a conversation with someone in my personal life and they were asking me about getting back into (the adult industry). They were so concerned, like I had lost my footing in life or something. Their conception of me was, “Oh, you’re doing so well not being in the adult industry.” And I was like, “Wait a minute, this is a part of me.” Who I am in my personal life has to do with my professional life in a way, and vice versa.

I’m still the same person, I haven’t lost my brain and I choose to express myself differently. And that has to do with my body and my sexuality. I believe that the human body is a form of art and it should be expressed the way a person feels is right for them.

Q: May I ask a few questions about yourself as a person if that’s okay?

Sure!

Q: Thank you. Can you tell us where you were raised and how you would describe yourself growing up?

I grew up in Arizona. I grew up being in performing arts – singing, doing drama.

I was kind of a tomboy. It was an amazing childhood. It wasn’t anything spectacular … I was just a normal girl, really.

Q: How about interests and hobbies away from work?

Oh, hobbies – I love camping, I love to do yoga, I paint, I make jewellery.

I like being outdoors – I love nature. Just anything creation – as human beings, I believe our biggest power is creation and I think that needs to be exercised in any way that is healthy and right for someone.

Q: I saw some of the photos that you posted on your Twitter account of the paintings you have done (Note: A sample of Brea’s artwork is pictured to the left) and they are very good. I think you have a real talent for it.

Thank you!

Q: How about favorites – favorite movies, T.V. shows, musical artists and things like that?

Oh, man … I like all sorts of stuff! For a while, I was into Lost. I literally sat for days and days watching it (Laughs) and I know Lost fans can relate to that.

I like documentaries. I like things that challenge the intellect. Right now, I just started New Girl and it’s pretty hilarious.

Music … I like Bon Iver, Trentemoller, Mumford and Sons, Thao. I like anything from New Age to hardcore metal, really.

Q: Very cool. Is there one thing about yourself that you feel would surprise a lot of people?

Well, I think that if someone were to meet me in my personal life and then realize what I do for a living, I think that would surprise them – and it has surprised people because they’re like, “Oh, I never thought you would have done that.” And it’s like, “Yeah, see? I am normal!” (Laughs) You know?

But, I don’t know … I like video games – maybe that’s surprising. (Laughs)

Q: We discussed a few things earlier, but are there any more current or upcoming projects in the works that you would like to put out there?

Not right now, except that I’m coming back to L.A. at the end of August and I’m open for bookings for about two weeks (Note: Please contact Cam Smith of Motley Models at [email protected] for information on booking Brea Bennett). I’m just getting my foot back in the door and the reaction has been really nice. So, I have high hopes.

Q: To finish up, is there anything else you wish to say to readers?

I’m so grateful for the continued support, even through my years of hiatus. It really has meant a lot to me. That was one of the driving forces of me getting back in because my art with my body and scenes is important to me and I can tell it’s important to my fans, and I want to be there for them.

Q: Terrific. Again, I want to welcome you back and I appreciate you taking some time to chat with me today. All the best in the future and have a great day.

Thank you – you, too.
