Q: Let’s start at the beginning: Can you tell us how you initially became interested – and later involved – in the adult industry?

Well, when I was in middle school, more than anything I wanted to be a (Playboy) Playmate. It never really occurred to me that was something that was a part of the adult Industry.

I started just taking some professional photos for fun as I got older and into high school. Someone had found me on Model Mayhem. They asked me if I had ever thought about doing adult work. I remember talking it over with my best friend, weighing the pros and cons. I was nervous as shit, but honestly, I was super stoked. I just thought, “You know, I’ll try this once and if I don’t like it, I’ll never do it again.”

Before I knew it, I was on a plane to Miami to shoot my first scenes. I loved it right away. I believe after my second day of shooting, I was signing with an agency and talking about moving to Los Angeles. And here we are!

Q: How long have you been a XXX performer?

I shot my first scene ever in Feburary 2011. I’ll be a two-year vet (if you can even call it that) in February 2013.

Q: Do you enjoy being an adult film actress?

It’s a lot of fun. I get to explore different parts of my sexuality that I didn’t even really know was there before. I get to meet all different types of people, travel, go to work in my pajamas. Though there are a lot of times when it’s rough and basically a shitstorm. When I’m not shooting, I miss it terribly. Whenever I have a scene, I wake up in a super good mood and just like a burst of excitement! I’ll be dancing and singing in the car on the way to set. It has its days, but I truly love it!

Q: Who are some of your favorite talent and studios to work with?

I haven’t really worked with a lot of girls in the industry. I think I’ve only done about 3 girl/girl scenes. But I love working with Danny Wylde. He’s a super cool guy and I’ve worked with him a few times, and it’s always a fucking hot scene.

I’ve also worked with Alex Gonz a few times – also just a super cool dude who can bring the heat. I’ve just really enjoyed working with both of them – they’re both awesome performers. Though I’ve only shot for Wicked Pictures once, I really enjoyed being on their set. The whole crew was really nice and they just run things super professionally. I also love working for the Mofos Network. Though they are an amateur site, they have been really good to me with scenes and just being amazingly supportive throughout my career so far.

Q: Are there any performers or companies you haven’t yet had a chance to work with, but would like to in the near future?

I really hope to work for Digital Playground at some point. Not only do they have the best of the best within their company, the way their content is filmed is just awesome. Everything they put out is to the highest quality. With talent, dialogue, presentation, they really just go all out and I would love to be a part of something like that.

Q: Do you have any specific aspirations in mind for your career?

Though I love the porn industry, I’d really like to become a mainstream actress. I chose porn because it combines my two favorite things: sex and performance. But let’s be honest: no one can fuck on camera forever.

Growing up, I was always a part of my school’s productions. I took acting classes until I was a senior in high school; it’s something I have always loved. A lot of girls in this industry hate scripts and dialogue, but I love it! I get so excited when I get sent a script. I hope that one day I can do a full feature in an adult film filled with brilliant dialogue and hot sex. That’s definitely a big goal I have for my adult career.

Q: Did you have any preconceived notions about the adult industry that you have discovered to be untrue now that you are a part of the business?

You know, I didn’t really know much about the adult industry when I started. I was freshly 18 when I began filming. If anything, I didn’t expect it to be as professional as it is. I mean, yes, sometimes you show up on set and there’s a few lights and a dude with a fancy camera. But then, sometimes you step onto a real set, like something you’d see in the movies. I think a lot of aspects of this industry are far more legitimate than people realize.

Q: On the flip side, are there any misconceptions about the porn industry by those outside of it that bother you?

A lot of people think I had family issues or drug problems, or I’m holding onto some fucked up past. I just want to set the record straight that I came from a good family. My parents were very well off, I grew up in a Christian private school, I went to church every Sunday, my parents are still together, I didn’t have a gnarly drug problem. I am normal – or so I think. Just because I want to have sex on camera doesn’t mean I am psychologically messed up or emotionally scarred. This is just something I’ve always been interested in, something that’s always intrigued me.

And you know, I find that with a lot of girls in this industry. They’re just like me: came from good families, were in sports in school – no crazy history. We just live our lives differently, which makes people think something is wrong with us or something must have happened to us. Quite the contrary.

Q: I have noticed that you are very active on Twitter. How important do you think fan interaction is to a performer’s career in the modern era and is it something you personally enjoy?

I don’t think I have fans – that’s just weird to me. I never call the people that support me “fans.” I just don’t see them that way. I am in no position to have fans. I love getting on my Twitter because I am kind of a loner and Twitter keeps me from going insane. I’m able to put out my bullshit babble for people to read. Honestly, my “fans” are my friends. I find that my followers and I have a lot of the same interests. They’ll Tweet me quotes from my favorite shows, songs on YouTube, or just shit that makes me smile. If anything, I’m a fan of my followers – they keep me entertained and make me feel loved.

Q: Let’s learn a little bit about Madelyn Monroe, the person. Can you tell us where you were raised and how you would describe yourself growing up?

I was born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I grew up about 20 minutes outside of downtown Seattle.

Growing up, I was a brat. I always knew what I wanted and how I wanted it. I was always the center of attention.

I grew up in Christian home. My mom was raised Christian and my father was raised Jewish, though we practiced the Christian religion as a family. We would do a lot of Jewish holidays with my father’s side of the family.

As I said earlier, I went to private school, so religion was a big part of my whole life. I was always a really good Christian kid until about the end of middle school. Suddenly, what I was being taught didn’t add up and I was starting to be able to think for myself.

Once I turned about 16, I was a wild child. I loved to go to parties with my friends, hanging out on the water and smoking blunts. I had a good time in high school. That’s when I learned to stop caring, I think, and to just live.

Q: What are some of your interests and hobbies?

I love music. I’m into a lot of alternative rock and hip-hop. If you follow me on Twitter, you know I am a marijuana enthusiast.

I’m kind of a homebody. I like to hang out at home and have a drink, watch some comedy specials on Netflix, smoke a bowl or three. I’m low key.

Q: How about favorites – favorite movie, T.V. show, musical artists, etc.?

My favorite TV Show is Workaholics. I can watch that shit over and over and still be laughing my ass off. If you haven’t seen it, get it on Netflix right now.

I’m also into really nerdy shows like Lockup, Man v. Food, Intervention, Hoarders – you know, shows that make me feel better about myself!

One of my favorite movies of all-time is Inglorious Bastards, probably because a hot, badass Jewish woman just fucking owns it in the end and I like that. Top two favorite bands of all-time are Circa Survive and Brand New.

Q: Is there one thing about yourself that you feel would surprise most people?

I haven’t had a boyfriend since I was a junior in high school. A lot of people don’t believe me! I’ve been single for a long time. If it wasn’t for porn, I probably wouldn’t get laid, either.

Q: Are there any current or upcoming projects in the works that you would like to mention?

You know, I just came out of a bloodbath with an old agent and I have finally been able to start fresh with a new agency – Foxxx Modeling – so as of right now, I’m really just looking forward to getting back into the swing of things. Hopefully, I will be busy and there will be new scenes for you to check out!

Q: In closing, is there anything you wish to say to readers?

Thank you for all the support! Please follow me on Twitter to stay updated on scenes, upcoming projects and the shit show that is my life! Thank you, XXX Wasteland, for conducting this interview!
