Adam Wilcox posts on www.xxxwasteland.wordpress.com – Digital Playground contract superstar Riley Steele has lit the world of erotic entertainment on fire since entering the business in 2008.

A studio exclusive her entire career, Riley’s venture into adult began following a meeting with Jesse Jane during a signing for DP’s widely celebrated Pirates feature production, with the blonde bombshell’s on-screen debut taking place as part of the franchise’s sequel, Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge.

Riley kindly granted XXX Wasteland a recent interview while on set of another huge Digital Playground production to discuss her entry into the adult business, her friendship with fellow DP contract superstarlet Jesse Jane, current and upcoming studio projects and much more.

Q: I have always found your entry into the adult industry to be an interesting story, as I understand fellow Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane suggested you give the business a try after you met her at a signing for the film Pirates and later recommended you to the studio. Can you tell us the story and how you initially became interested in adult entertainment?

I had always wanted to be in front of the camera in some way. Growing up, I was always very sexual and loved porn, so it became my dream to be a Digital Playground girl and I’m very happy to be where I’m at today.

Q: On that note, I’d like to ask about your relationship with Jesse Jane, as I have always thought it was a nice story how the two of you became such close friends after she helped open the door to your career in adult entertainment. Do you consider Jesse a mentor of sorts professionally?

Definitely. We are very close friends and we talk all the time. She has always helped me with my professional life and my personal life as well.

Q: When you reflect on your superstar status in the XXX world today, does it ever seem surreal that it all began with that meeting at the Pirates signing years ago?

It does. I actually can’t believe that it’s been 5 years I have been in porn. So much has happened, but I have so much more I still want to do.

Q: You attended the premiere of Piranha 3DD last month in Los Angeles. What did you think of the film?

I thought it was a perfect summer film! Very funny and lots of boobies!

Q: As many people know, you had a prominent role in 2010’s Piranha 3D. Has your part in that movie opened doors to other mainstream acting opportunities?

It did. It opened up a lot of hosting gigs for me, as well as TV shows on Cinemax and Showtime.

Q: You picked up the Fan Awards at this year’s Adult Video News ceremony and were named Twitter Queen and Favorite Porn Star. You are very active on Twitter and obviously consider interaction with your fans very important. With that said, how did it feel to be recognized by voters with those honors?

It feels great! Being voted all those awards by the fans is a huge honor and I love them all so much for that.

Q: You play the role of “Kaylie” on the HBO/Cinemax program The Girl’s Guide to Depravity. Can you tell us about your character and how the part came about?

I play Kaylie. She is just a fun-loving girl who doesn’t play by any dating rules. She just lives her life the way she wants. She’s a free spirit and by not playing by the rules, she comes out on top.

Q: Is there one misconception about the adult industry that you wish you could dispel?

That we all have some kind of horrible life or have drug addictions. I know a lot of people that are very smart and healthy and come from great backgrounds.

Q: You have starred in a number of feature films for Digital Playground this year, including Mothers & Daughters, Riley Steele: Looking For Love and Nurses 2, which has just been released. Is there anything you would like to tell us about these movies or any of the other titles you have appeared in?

Q: The trailer for Skip Trace just came out and it is action-packed. They usually do action movies, so I was super excited about it. We’ve done two Skip Trace movies so far and more to come.

Q: Let’s learn a little bit about Riley Steele, the person. Can you tell us where you were raised and how you would describe yourself growing up?

I grew up in San Diego a total beach girl: bonfire nights with my friends, rode horses and figure skated for a while. Then I turned into a horny teenager; I worked at Subway, a snack bar, then Starbucks and became who I am today.

Q: What are some of your interests and hobbies?

I still love going to the beach, going on hikes, going to the gym – and shopping, of course!

Q: Is there one thing about yourself that you feel would surprise most people?

Probably how low-key I like to be. I don’t like to go out to clubs, really. I prefer a nice dinner or movie night at home relaxing.

Q: Are there any current or upcoming projects in the works that you would like to mention?

Right now, I’m on set; we’re shooting our next big feature. I can’t tell you too much about it, but this is another action movie and I get to play with guns.
