from www.chicagotribune.com - Two Chicago police officers accused of raping a woman while both were on-duty pleaded not guilty Monday to the charges, the Cook County state’s attorney’s office said.
Paul Clavijo and Juan Vasquez were relieved of their police powers in late March, a day after the alleged sexual assault. Both pleaded not guilty to criminal sexual assault and official misconduct charges.
After publicity over that rape, a second woman came forward and alleged that earlier in March, Clavijo sexually assaulted her while Vasquez was in her bathroom. Both were on-duty then as well, authorities said.
Clavijo pleaded not guilty Monday to that alleged rape as well; Vasquez was not charged in that offense.
