Rather, I was surprised by how FEW instances there were of relationships or even liaisons between the two professions. In fact, two of the entrants on this list have dated multiple athletes. Well, you can’t say they don’t have a type. Here are seven instances of jocks and starlets gettin’ down.

7. Jennifer Capriati/Dale DaBone – Capriati dated male porn star Dale DaBone (that may not be his Christian name) from 2003-2009. However, even after they had broken up, the relationship was still plaguing her. In June 2010, an ambulance was called to her condo after Capriati overdosed on prescription drugs. According to DaBone she overdosed in response to the news that he had gone back into adult movies.

I promise the entries get more lighted-hearted from here, save for the occasional occurrences of abuse, both substance and domestic.

6. Reggie Bush/Kim Kardashian – He dated Kim after she got down with noted songsmith Ray J, but before their leaked sex tape came out. In case you’re wondering if this qualifies Kim K as a “porn star,” it does. She was unknown, or close to it, before the tape surfaced, she sold a video of herself having sex for financial gain, and she has no other discernible talents. If she’s anything at all (which I’m not willing to concede), she’s a porn star.

The sometimes-Heisman-winning running back dated the starlet for three years, though it devolved to an on-and-off relationship towards the end. It was rumored by E! (who I actually trust to report crap like this) that he was bothered by her rising fame. I’m sure that Ray J sex tape was no walk in the park either, especially when opposing fans would chant his name during games. At what price love? Not at that price, for damn sure.

5. Tiger Woods/Joslyn James – In his parade of Olive Garden hostesses, zookeepers, and foreign dignitaries, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Woods dated a porn star. If you don’t think that what they did constitutes “dating,” bear in mind that she has 122 text messages from him. Not only is that “dating,” but possibly common-law marriage.

He had threesomes with her, asked her about golden showers, and set up clandestine meetings with her in hotel rooms. The perfect crime. Almost. Their meetings were kept secret between July and October of 2009, until the lid came off once Elin clocked him in the head with a golf club (irony!).

Because I care about my readers, I’ll also share this with you: He asked her to beg him for sex and conveyed a desire to bite her during sex.

4. Barry Bonds/Devon Shire – This one was pretty under-the radar. Or it could have been really well covered at the time, but I just happened to be 14, so I about a year away from being obsessed with porn. Not sure which. Anyway, it turns out that Ms. Pearce became five months pregnant, claiming that Bonds knocked her up during a three-day fling during the summer of 1994. He denied it, but he and his wife separated later the next May. Turns out Bonds was cheating a long time before we thought he was.

Her attorney later claimed that she knew she was ovulating, suggesting that their tryst may not have just been about love. Sad, isn’t it?

3. Cristiano Renaldo/Kim Kardashian – Only in the world of athletes and whatever the hell Kim Kardashian is would two people meet in Spain for dinner for a first date. But that’s what famed footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and Kim K did in April of 2010, just one month after her split with Reggie was made official. It might seem like Ronaldo was slumming it with Kim, when his life is built on an actual career. However, here is an incomplete list of the women the soccer player had been attached to in the six years before Kim:

Jordan Jardel, Karina Ferro, Daniele Aguiar, Isabel Figueir, Diana Chaves, Nuria Bermudez, Soraia Chaves, Merche Romero, Luciana Abreu, Gemma Atkinson, Bipasha Basu, Karina Bacchi, Carolina Patrocinio, Lucia Garcia, Maria Sharapova, Niki Ghazian, Tyese Cunningham, Nereida Gallardo, Mia Judaken, Imogen Thomas, Letizia Filippi, Alyona Haynes, Olivia Saunders, Gabriela Endringer, Launa Belletti, Paris Hilton, and Rafaella Fico.

Well, in light of that (especially the penultimate entry), I would say that they probably deserve each other. Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be, and the relationship ended as quickly as it began. They probably both thought they could do better.

2. Al Cowlings/Devon Shire – Dammit! He’s A.C.! And she’s Jennifer Peace, who also trades under the delightful moniker “Devon Shire.” Unsurprisingly, Cowlings was regarded by many porn stars as being a hanger-on to the industry, bouncing around from one starlet to the next, probably informing them that he was friends with O.J. Simpson, back when people wouldn’t run away from you when you told them that.

Of course, Cowlings claimed it to be a one time affair, while Peace claimed it to be a relationship. Why does this delineation matter, in the grand scheme of things? Well, in a February 1995 interview with that bastion of journalistic integrity, Cheri Magazine, she claimed that A.C. had called her during the well-known Bronco chase and told her “O.J. did it.” There is no corroboration, and at the time, she was already known to have had Bonds unknowingly impregnate her, so no one really paid much attention to her story, thankfully.

1. Tito Ortiz/Jenna Jameson – n the realm of porn star “dating” this is one of the more wholesome stories out there. Ortiz met Jenna Jameson on MySpace (welcome to the 21st century, bitches!) in 2006, and they started dating almost immediately. A few months later, they were monogamous and “in love.” In 2009, Jameson gave birth to twin boys, however, the bliss of being new parents would be short-lived.
In 2010, Ortiz was arrested in their home for battery, though he contended that Jameson was addicted to OxyContin and behaving erratically. However, both parties recanted their stories and now they live happily ever after, and I’m absolutely sure that there will never, ever, ever be another moment of discord between the drug-addled former porn queen and the guy that was paid to beat the holy hell out of people.
