Autumn Rayne posts: As if things couldn’t get much worse…. I call AIM today to find that my blood sample has not yet arrived from this Great State of NC. So, I call the draw site, which is actually an urgent care center. Check this out..I go there on Sat May 8th get my blood taken, the phlebotomist doesn’t even put GLOVES on..HELLO, I could possibly be carrying HIV, or hepatitis, this guy does not know me, so that scared me a little.

Then when I found out today that AIM had not gotten my sample, I called over to the urgent care here is how the conversation went…

ME: Hi, my name is (insert real name) I had my blood drawn on Saturday to be sent to AIM in L.A. for PCR-DNA HIV testing, but they have not recieved it and I am wondering why?”

Receptionist: “I don’t know what to tell you, you need to speak with a nurse about this, so call tommorrow”

ME: “So there are NO nurses there now?”

Receptionist: “Well yes, but they are in rooms with patients, you need to call tomorrow”

At this point I am more than annoyed with this woman so I tell her that this is MY LIFE we are talking about here and that I will gladly hold for as long as it takes to talk to a nurse. Nurse lets out a LOUD annoyed sigh, puts me on hold, and a nurse gets on the line.

Turns out its the same guy that drew my blood. Apparently they “Forgot” to ship my sample on Sat so they will ship it tommorrow (Tues) I place NO blame on AIM, it’s not their fault, but the fear has been gut-wrenching and I had really hoped to have my results on Tuesday, which I would have if the draw center/urgent care had done their job right. If I knew this would have happened I would have personally shipped the damn sample myself, I know how to call Fed-Ex how hard is it??
