A Lesson in Grammar for Jimmy D

Porn Vallley- Simply Jimmy D was on his site today chastising industry reporters who are covering real stories about the industry while he sits on his fat, Pat Robertson-sanctioned, ass pontificating on their work. Which is Jimmy D’s prerogative. But today he really blew it. So Jimmy D makes a big deal of the fact that Adultfyi reports April 18, instead of May 18 for a porn performers meeting? Which is okay and he’s entitled to milk words out of a totally worthless moment in time. But when it comes to grammar, Jimmy D is sadly lacking in what Al Campanis would refer to as “the necessities”.

Jimmy D goes on the attack against AVN for not using the word “allegedly” to describe details of a Lara Roxx story. But Simply Jimmy D fails to recognize a greater sin- the fact that AVN allowed a reporter to use a subjective pronoun with a preposition. Here is the offending sentence:

“Roxxx contracted the virus from Darren James after performing in a double anal scene with he and Mark Anthony on March 24…”

Oooooooooooooooooooooh. Groan.

Subjective pronouns are the following: I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they

Objective pronouns are me, you, him, her, us, it, them

Prepositions are the following: about, above, across, after, against, among, around, at, before, behind, beside, between, beyond, by, down, during, except, for, from in, into, near of, on, over, past, through, to, toward, under, up, with.

In other words, the preposition, “with”, would demand, the objective pronoun HIM not HE

And then we get into the whole issue with the relative pronoun “who” which has the objective “whom” and the most commonly made grammatical mistake of all, when people write “with who”. Obviously the rule demands “with whom….”
