Web Content Business has Changed Dramatically

Posted on www.web-legal.com: Over the past few years, the Web Content Business has changed dramatically. Where there was once a wide-open field for new producers to make and market their wares, the marketplace is now a very limited field, with great numbers of problems and risks, and very few rewards.

Between the government making noises of possible new restrictions, companies that think that they can patent concepts and then extort others to pay them to avoid being sued over their “technology”, and the sheer fact that the marketplace for licensing content seems to have shrunk dramatically, the opportunities that once existed in this marketplace for a new producer simply do not exist anymore.

Because of these facts, Web-Legal.com is no longer soliciting new publishers to work with in this field. We feel that the risks are too great and the rewards are too few to encourage people to invest their time and efforts into producing content solely for the website licensing marketplace.

If you are a producer that already has a substantial amount of still image content, or of “created works” content (stories and cartoon/artwork/anime type material), I would still encourage you to contact us regarding helping you distribute your materials. However, if you are just getting started in this business, my heartfelt advice to you, is DON’T. Chances are, you will lose money, not make it. If you fail to follow all of the rules and keep up on them as they change, you could find yourself in legal trouble very, very easily.

I also wish to point out that due to issues pointed out above, we do not carry streaming media or movies at all, so we cannot help you distribute that nomatter what the circumstances.

If you would like to contact me, please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or comments that you might have. I’ll be happy to answer your questions.
