Las Vegas- Arrow Productions’ Ray Pistol, www.xxxdeepthroat.com got a pretty handsome offer to sell his famous Talk of the Town Strip Club. Which, if the deal goes down, would put high rises on the site. Pistol had been mulling over the idea of renovating the club and turning into a super club. The money being offered would certainly cover those costs but Pistol would have to consider re-locating. As they say, he’s thinking about it. Funny thing is, Pistol was supposed to have a meeting with Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman about it, but Goodman’s been called for jury duty thus bumping the meeting. Pistol finds the idea quit amusing that Goodman, a celebrated lawyer in his own right, would ever wind up on a jury.
While Pistol’s mulling, I was mulling the possibilities of doing an article on one of Arrow’s biggest selling series, The Goddaughter. Fred Lincoln directed Parts 1 through 4. Pistol, when he acquired Arrow, took the directing helm of Part 5. That one’s a 160-minute movie and because of it’s length, Pistol says it’s presented some problems in getting that multi-angle, multi-camera shoot transferred to DVD. Much of Pistol’s time- has been directed towards getting the entire Arrow catalogue transferred over to DVD, so he hasn’t shot a new movie since Come Under My Spell. Arrow might be one of the few adult companies, maybe the only one, that doesn’t have to be concerned with shooting new product.
In Goddaughter 5, Pistol went with different characters and an obvious Las Vegas tie-in, whereas Parts 1 through 4 had New York and Italian settings. And, like Godfather 2 which shifted locales and is considered the best in the Copola trilogy, Pistol ventures to say that Goddaughter 5, heavy on plot and sex, is the best in that series. As much as Pistol has been discussing a sequel to Come Under My Spell, the Goddaughter series is probably going to sit where it’s at. “But any series that’s successful can go on,” Pistol laughs.
“Come Under My Spell was a big hit,” says Pistol. “We found a nice little fetish market for that. Nobody had done anything on hypnotism, and there are hypnotist nuts out there. So we’ll probably do another one. We even have fans trying to cast that one for us.” Pistol explains that there’s a Come Under My Spell Yahoo group that’s been formed with fan discussions running current on that topic. And Pistol has already shot part of the sequel should the project continue. “But we’re so busy doing DVDs right now that it’s not a pressing matter,” Pistol says.
Pistol tells me that Goddaughter 5 was a four-day shoot. “That was for the basic shooting although we went back to get pick-ups. We shot part of it in L.A.; part of it in Vegas. It was a big undertaking.”
