Las Vegas- Stooge from the Vegas Floor writes: My thinking on the 2005 trade show is where does the pricing go from here. Last year we saw a low of $0.60 for an adult catalog DVD. The going price is $1.00 all day long. So my question is what type of show special do you give your customers? Do we offer to pay them to take the product. Most of the great pricing also is going with net 30 day billing if you are an established account. We have all taken a great business and made it a swap meet type of atmosphere. In other word we fucked our selves in the ass.
“We don’t have show specials anymore,” SFTVF writes. “Now Leisure Time was selling DVD’s at 65-75 cents whatever it was. They’re back at a buck. Want to know why? After that run, they had to lay off a bunch of people. It hurt the company. The multi-billion dollar industry has hit rock bottom. We’ve all underbid each other. Where do we go from here? You can buy 10,000 discs at 85 cents and get 30-60-90 day terms. We’re assuming that they’re going to be giving away VHS tape for 50 cents a tape. It’s a whore’s market.”
