Adult performer Ray West was taken to a hospital on Thursday afternoon after catching fire during an adult film production said Clear View Inc.
The fire, at a studio in Malibu, California, was reported at about 1.30pm and firefighters attended the scene.
Ray West, 37 years old was led to safety and taken by ambulance to St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica, where he was treated for second degree burns.
A spokesman for the fire station said: “There was a fire in the bedroom which we think was caused by a faulty electric blanket. The smoke damage was localized in the bedroom, where a gentleman was inside. He got out safely and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.”
Another spokesman added: “This serves as a warning to everyone with an electric blanket. If the blanket is any more than five-years-old it is sometimes best to get rid of it and get a new one. When you get one make sure it has been thoroughly checked”.
A spokesman for Clear View Incorporated said “He is expected to make a full recovery and is thankful no one else got hurt”.
