AdultFYI Football Pool Week #6 – Rush Limbaugh Was Right

Rush Limbaugh said it back in 2003 and was pilloried, mostly by ESPN. Limbaugh who often talks out of both sides of his ass, infamously commented that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was “overrated.” Pissed a lot of people off, but was he ever correct on that one.

“… what we have here is a little social concern in the NFL,” Limbaugh continued. “The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback can do well—black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. There’s a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he didn’t deserve. The defense carried this team.”

Let’s take black out of the equation. As a pro quarterback, McNabb is a chump- the Eagles equivalent of Tony Romo. He’s never won the big game and has floundered in games the Eagles should be winning handily.

Case in point came yesterday when Philadelphia made the oafish Oakland Raiders look like Super Bowl contenders. McNabb got sacked an incredible six times, but, of course the bigger bum in that hobo conclave was kicker David Akers who shanked two field goals.

After the game, McNabb said he was “embarrassed.” Gee whiz, an uncanny analysis, but it’s coach Andy Reid whose head should be put on the chopping block for not taking McNabb out of the game. Reid’s do or die fealty to McNabb will cost Philly with its otherwise powerhouse offense another run at the championship this year.

But that game was only the caboose in another derailment of upset after upset.

This is how the AdultFYI football pool made out to where 8-5 was the best record of the day. Sharing that glory were 0&16 Chuck, Steve Seidman, Danny from Foxxx Modeling , Jeff Mullen, Sean Quick and Steve from Magnus. John Gray, who had an off day, is back to sharing the lead with Danny from Foxxx Modeling. Depending who wins tonight’s game when Denver and San Diego square off, we could be back to a threeway face off since Scott David has picked the Broncos with John and Danny going with San Diego.
