New Jersey [Post Chronicle]- Antonella Barba pictures may not have kept her on American Idol but they have prompted several offers to come the New Jersey native’s way. Moving to the next “American Idol” round is no longer an option for New Jersey’s Antonella Barba, so she could be pondering the various offers she has received.
“I just wish you could sing better,” Cowell said on Wednesday night.
So does Antonella. The twenty-year-old New Jersey resident has been shown in various racy photos that are circulating on the Web, and she was one of 16 finalists to make the cut on the hit reality talent competition.
The Point Pleasant Beach resident finally spoke about the photos and she admitted that they were a distraction. Barba admits she was distracted by fervor over the pics of her that spread over the web and issued this warning.
“These were photos of my personal life that got exploited without my consent,” she said during a conference call Friday with reporters from across the country. “I’ve learned to be careful who you trust.”
Because of the photos and subsequent notoriety, Barba received several offers from adult entertainment outlets.
“Girls Gone Wild” founder Joe Francis invited Barba to join his company, offering her $250,000 to host an upcoming video release from the franchise.
Also, adult film purveyor SugarDVD offered Barba $500,000 to become the company’s celebrity person. “We have set aside money for the right opportunity and we feel like this is it,” SugarDVD said in a statement.
As of Friday, Barba hasn’t commented on the offers.
“Right now, I’m going to stay in L.A. for a week or two,” she said. “I want to see what I can do with this for a career. I want to strike while the iron is hot.”
Mayor Martin Konkus said Point Pleasant plans to honor its newly famous resident once she comes home. A mayoral proclamation is in the works, and Konkus plans to ask Barba to sing “God Bless America” at the Memorial Day parade.
“We are going to welcome her home with open arms,” Konkus told the AP. “She’s not a bad person. She’s a good person that probably wishes she had used a little more discretion. But what you saw was nothing you won’t see on a Victoria’s Secret television ad.
“She comes home a little bit older and a lot wiser,” Konkus added.
Lets hope so.
