Porn Valley- Yes, Virginia, there will be another Deep Throat.

The question is who’s shooting it first. Robert Interlandi [pictured] held a cattle call this week on behalf of Arrow Productions, www.xxxdeepthroat.com which is the film’s parent company and for whom Interlandi’s the marketing director.

But now comes word that Vivid is also remaking the original. And this scenario between the two companies apparently forms the basis of a reality show that’s set to air on Showtime.

It’s been about 20 years since Arrow made a Deep Throat movie. Besides the Linda Lovelace original, there’s been a collection of sequels, some of which featured Victoria Paris, with storylines that began straying some what from home base.

But with the fact that Arrow’s celebrating a 40th anniversary next year, Interlandi figures now is the time to get back to the roots.

“I was hoping to make this part of the anniversary,” states Interlandi. “Arrow started in 1969 by shooting loops.”

In preparation, Interlandi held a casting call this past week and got something like 200 responses from ads he put on Craigslist and in Las Vegas newspapers.

“I know Ray Pistol’s been looking for the next Linda Lovelace- is this going to take care of it?” Interlandi is asked.

“There was never a good solid crew around him to help him pick her,” replies Interlandi. “But now we have those resources and a solid team at Arrow. I think we have a better shot at getting the next girl with them helping us do the casting.”

“And I would love to find that diamond-in-the-rough.”

In his mining for diamonds, Interlandi came across many untrained actors and who have never done porn.

“Then Pistol comes in and wants to know how my day’s going,” continues Interlandi.

“Nothing that tremendous, then all of a sudden this girl comes in who works at our strip club. She’s there for the audition. But then she rips off my pants and starts giving me deep throat on the spot. It was crazy. I have Pistol like a foot away from my dick holding a camera. I’ve got people, giggling and laughing. Then we had the guys from the reality TV show with their cameras. Now I have four cameras on me and I’ve never done a porn scene before. Then on top of this my dad and my sister are in the lobby in the next room hearing the whole thing…”

“I’m having a little bit of wood issues at the beginning,” Interlandi continues.

Interlandi mentions that he’s been going to AIM every month to get tested in preparation for these types of eventualities.

“I’ve been tested- I’m okay- I can bang porn stars,” he laughs. “I had to take one for the team.”

So I ask Interlandi the name of the young lady who serviced him, and his was the typical response.

“I dunno,” he replies.

“You’re having a woman release you and you don’t even know her name?” I ask in astonishment.

“I know what she looks like- I was told she’s a porn star that works out our club,” Interlandi says, indicating that he had initial wood issues but they were resolved and he finished out the scene.

“I’ll be on Showtime getting a blowjob.”

Any more details than this come with the pulling of teeth, because Interlandi can’t say too much for now.

“But it airs in the fall,” he tells me.

The plot is that Vivid’s Steve Hirsch wants to make Deep Throat and Interlandi wants to make Deep Throat. And it’s a race to the finish line. [Interlandi swears he’s not in a race.]

“Like the Kardashians against the Hiltons,” I offer.

“I don’t see it like that,” Interlandi says. “I see it more like I’m Luke Skywalker and he’s…”

“Darth Vader?”

“He’s more like the Emperor,” Interlandi laughs.

“I joked to him about getting in the cage UFC-style, and he wasn’t into it. I was thinking he’s bigger than me, he weighs more than me but I got 30 years on him. I’ll take the weight and the height and jump in the ring. Let’s do it.”

[For the record, Hirsch is 47, according to Wikipedia. Interlandi is 30.]

Interlandi, who was a wrestler in college, tells me about all the Martial Arts training he has.

“You sound like a regular UFC fighting machine,” I tell him.

“I should have been,” he says. “I’m just not heavy enough. They don’t have a weight class for me.”

According to Interlandi, there’s no working title for the Deep Throat movie, that he’s still working on it.

“We’ve been kicking around a lot of names,” he says. “I have to keep some things close to the vest because I’m in a competition with Vivid. They might hear something. But they think they’re in a race. So they’re going to produce a crappy movie thinking the faster they make it, the faster they’re going to impress Pistol. They talked to Pistol and Pistol said okay we’ll give you a shot. It’s sanctioned.”

Interlandi says Arrow will also be at Erotica LA next weekend.

“I’m bringing the mechanical bull, the [Deep Throat] Corvette, everything.”
