Porn Valley- I get an update from Ed Parry, owner of The Italian Stallion- the softcore movie starring Sylvester Stallone which just came out on DVD recently through Arrow Productions, www.xxxdeepthroat.com. Arrow is the official adult distributor for the film. https://www.adultfyi.com/read.aspx?ID=4830
Parry tells me that sales are going very well and that the website, www.stallionreleasing.com through which he’s also selling the movie is being revamped. This is in anticipation of a media and sales blitz in November once Stallone’s reality TV series, The Contender hits the airwaves on NBC.
Parry seems to be this walking encyclopedia of Stallone and regales me with Rockyisms. Parry made humorous note that adultfyi.com now comes up in the search engines on Sylvester Stallone. “Stallone fans are searching for information- I think that’s hilarious,” said Parry. “That’s more readers to your site for sure.”
Parry says that sales of The Italian Stallion are doing well particularly in the mom & pop stores. “We’ve also got some of the bigger retailers selling it now. Even Barnes & Noble is selling it,” says Parry.
“With the Stallone show coming up in November, we’ve been waiting to do a push on the movie is a very tasteful way,” Parry continues. “Other than that we’re not going to show Sylvester Stallone any disrespect. Because the movie is what it is- we’re not going to hype it to be something that it’s not.”
In Parry’s candid opinion, Stallone is one of the greatest actors in our time. “You may laugh at this but I think he’s mastered the craft of acting so well that he could show people like Elia Kazan and Lee Strasberg a thing or two about the craft of acting,” says Parry. “That’s just how good he is. Put it this way, if I was him, I’d be proud to be in this movie. He looks great. It’s his first film. He was 24. It helped him out financially [but not by much Stallone was paid $200]. He comes across as a very likable guy.”
“Because of the roles he’s done,” Parry continues, “he’s very underestimated. But he is a superb actor. In one of your articles you mentioned that he did Death of a Salesman at the Herbert Berghof School. He had been practicing at his craft for a long time and wowed everybody there. He was actually offered a scholarship by Herbert Berghof but he declined.”
Parry also notes that Stallone, back in the Seventies after he became a name, was “semi-blackmailed” with an opportunity to buy back The Italian Stallion but politely declined that offer also. “Stallone has balls,” says Parry. “He knows the value of his $200. He didn’t buy it back for one penny.”
