from www.usatoday.com – More details are emerging from the more than 500 pages of police documents released on the Ben Roethlisberger case under the Georgia Open Records Act. Among them:
The unnamed woman who accused the Steelers quarterback of sexual assault told police she tried to get away from Roethlisberger in a Milledgeville bar, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. She also said Roethlisberger came at her with his genitals exposed.
“I told him it wasn’t OK; no, we don’t need to do this, and I proceeded to get up and try to leave,” the accuser said in a written statement. “I went to the first door I saw, which happened to be the bathroom, and shut the door behind him. I still said no, this is not OK, and he then had sex with me. He said it was OK. He then left without saying anything.”
No charges were filed against Roethlisberger, who has denied committing any criminal action.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the officer who wrote that report, Milledgeville police Sgt. Jerry Blash, is under internal investigation for derogatory comments allegedly made to one of Roethlisberger’s friends about the accuser.
