from www.examiner.com – This week adult film stars Bree Olson and Sunny Leone were announced as co-hosts of the 2012 AVN Awards, to be held on January 21, 2012 at The Joint, inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Olson — who won the Best New Starlet award at the AVN Awards in 2008 and went on to make dozens of adult films, achieved paparazzi notoriety earlier this year as one of Charlie Sheen’s “Goddesses” — is said to be taking a hiatus from performing in adult films to pursue more mainstream acting roles. According to the AVN news release, Olson’s recent mainstream roles include appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Insomniac with Dave Attell, Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards, Tosh.0, Opie and Anthony, The Howard Stern Show, and Flo Rida and T-Pain’s music video for “Zoosk Girl.” She’s also recently appeared on the covers of both Penthouse and Playboy, and starred in a series of “Get Rubber!” public service announcements packaged with DVDs from adult film company Brazzers.

“This whole year has been unexpected for me; it’s been quite a year,” Olson said. “The AVN Awards is the biggest night for the industry and, really, everyone, even those who don’t watch porn, know about the AVN Awards. This is just awesome.”
Leone has also had quite a career: She first found fame as Penthouse Pet of the Year in 2003 and has been a contract “Vivid Girls” performer with Vivid Entertainment since 2005. Her mainstream crossover roles include appearances on the FOX reality show My Bare Lady 2: Open for Business, Showtime’s Debbie Does Dallas, and film roles including Middle Men, The Virginity Hit, The Girl Next Door, and Pirates Blood.
“I’ve been in the industry for so long and this is something every single year I go and watch. This will be my tenth AVN Awards,” Leone said. “I was so excited when I was asked to present, but to actually be on stage hosting is just unreal—surreal—I just can’t wait. It’s not real yet. I can’t stop thinking about what I’m going to wear.”
While the pair has never worked together in front of the camera, both are completely enthused to get more intimately acquainted.
“To know that I’m hosting with Bree is incredible,” Leone said. “She’s so beautiful and nice. I think we’ll be a great pair together.”
