DALLAS TWP. – A search warrant affidavit filed at the Luzerne County Courthouse says gay film producer Bryan Charles Kocis was stabbed 28 times, and that investigators recovered a folding type knife inside his Midland Court home.
The search warrant signed by Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr. on Friday gave investigators the authority to obtain Kocis’ telephone records.
A law enforcement source said the telephone records will show who Kocis was in contact with before he was killed Wednesday night. His body was found on a couch inside his home that was set on fire.
Investigators suspect the fire was set to cover up the murder.
A person in Germany and a person in Britain have been questioned, the source said.
The source said a wine bottle found inside the home suggests that Kocis had company, making a theory that someone forced their way inside the home less likely.
The search warrant affidavit indicated that there was no forced entry to the home, and when firefighters arrived, an exterior door was open.
