NORWALK — from www.stamfordadvocate.com – A California woman arrested two and one half years ago for prostitution, was charged with having child pornography on her computer.
Cheryl Magner, 23, whose current address is listed in Greenville, S.C., was charged with third-degree possession of child pornography and conspiracy to possess child pornography.
Magner was being held by police in lieu of $50,000 bond after being arrested on Monday.
In September 2008, Magner was the focus of a Craigslist sting by Special Services officers who were investigating a posting for a “blonde playmate” plying her trade at the extended stay hotel Homestead Studio Suites at 400 Main Avenue in Norwalk.
The department’s drug and vice squad answered Magner’s ad and posed as a customer. When a sexual advance was made, the undercover officer called in other officers waiting around the hotel and arrested Magner, then 20, on the spot for prostitution.
Magner’s arrest on Monday is apparently connected to that raid more than two years ago.
A month after her arrest, Magner plead guilty at state Superior Court in Norwalk to the prostitution charge and was sentenced to 60 days in jail.
According to police at the time, Magner had been arrested for prostitution by Oakland and Redwood City, Calif., police in May 2007.
Magner will be arraigned on the new charges at state Superior Court in Norwalk today.
