Cayman Digital, Inc. Announces the Upcoming Unveiling of MovieQuickie.com.

Los Angeles – A new VOD model is coming. Instead of offering a package of minutes, MovieQuickie.com follows a model similar to iTunes created by Apple. Understanding the needs of not only the customer but the studios, MovieQuickie.com is taking a much different approach towards online VOD then what is currently available,’ founder Kory Kupiszewski explains. ‘There is a lot of competition in the Pay Per Minute market, and our competitors are all fighting for the lowest ‘per minute’ pricing package. We’re doing things a lot differently.’

He’s referring to MovieQuickie.com’s new approach with a Pay Per Scene model. ‘A customer can sign up for an account and purchase a scene to download to their PC. They can choose either a 7 day rental or an Unlimited rental. Either way, they get amazing quality at an extremely lower price-point than our competitors. There is no hidden cost, no trial period, and no need to overspend on minute packages.’ MovieQuickie.com price points will be a 7 day scene download for $1.99 or an unlimited scene download for $3.99.

Every scene has Digital Rights Management (DRM) attached to them, which protects the studio from piracy. Our company is all about developing a strong relationship with the studios. We’ve received a lot of feedback about how the Pay Per Minute model is not very accurate for tracking revenue that is paid out to the studio. The studios just hope every month for a decent paycheck with no way to actually track their sales.

We want the studios to have complete confidence in us. ‘Our website has a built in Studio Reporting system that will track every scene that is downloaded to the customer. We can even track exactly how many times the customer watches a specific scene that they’ve downloaded’ explains Kupiszewski. VOD revenue is no longer ‘found money’ for a studio and they need to manage that aspect of their business in order to maximize their profits. With the slump in DVD sales and the rise of VOD revenue studios need a partner they can trust.

MovieQuickie.com has recently partnered up with San Diego based, Red Apple Media, who is handling all of MovieQuickie’s custom web development, DRM programming, and server co-location. ‘We’re very excited to have Red Apple Media on board partnering with MovieQuickie. Because of their hard work and dedication, we’ve been able to put together a solid website with additional applications that will make the lives of the consumer much easier.’ The applications he’s referring to are a MovieQuickie Download Manager that allows real time viewing while the video is being downloaded and also a DRM Compatibility Check that analyzes the user’s computer system and handles necessary upgrades before downloading a purchase.
