from www.onenewsnow.com – A pro-family leader argues that California, in being the porn capital of the United States, has legalized prostitution and is encouraging illegal activity.
The Los Angeles City Council recently voted to require the use of condoms in porn filming that occurs within city limits. The first-of-a-kind ruling follows a recent AIDS scare in the industry. The AIDS Healthcare Foundation has been pushing for such legislation, and it plans to push similar measures in other parts of the state.
However, porn makers expect the law will put a dent in the multibillion-dollar industry, and they have threatened to flock to Nevada to film. But as Phil Burress of Citizens for Community Values (CCV) points out, California and New Hampshire are the only two states where it is legal to film porn.
“So no matter where they make it, it’s against federal law to transport it out of that state for sale,” he explains. “Whether it’s being used by satellite, whether it’s being used by truck to transport, or FedEx, or however they choose to transport your videos, that is a federal crime.”
Filmmakers may head to Nevada, where prostitution is legal in some places, but the AIDS Healthcare Foundation promises to follow the porn producers wherever they go. And the CCV president asserts that prostitution is legal by association in The Golden State.
“They’re paying people to have sex, and then they’re videotaping it and … selling it — that in itself is prostitution,” he reasons. “So, California already has legalized prostitution.”
