Las Vegas- NFL football player Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones is apparently going to face felony and misdemeanor charges from the incident at the Minxx strip club over All-Star weekend in February.
The charges include one count of felony coercion, one count misdemeanor threat of life and one count misdemeanor battery.
A fight broke out inside the club that night. It spilled outside and ended with a triple shooting that left a bouncer paralyzed.
Metro Police are still looking for the person responsible for shooting three people. Now they have a better understanding of what happened inside the club before shots rang out, and they say NFL player Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones was involved.
But more trouble with the law could lay ahead for the Tennessee Titan’s cornerback. Jones now faces possible charges for what happened inside the Minxx gentlemen’s club moments before three people were shot.
Metro Lt. George Castro said, “We’re still canvassing the area in the second prong of our investigation, which is the shooting itself.”
Police say early that morning Jones threw hundreds of dollars onto stage and a fight broke out shortly after. Police also say Jones hit one of the security guards, made a threat to kill, and tried to prevent a security officer from protecting employees and customers.
It took hours of viewing surveillance video to figure out what happened.
“We are in a period of crisis sometimes the info gets a little distorted, so we have to identify what we believe fit a possible suspect,” Lt. Castro continued.
After the fight everyone was moved outside. That’s when shots rang out.
Floor manager Tom Urbanski had just arrived for his shift and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Matthew Dushoff, Urbanski’s attorney, said, “He saw the person who came out, stepped behind the palm tree, and started firing shots, and when he was hit he went straight down.”
He was hit three times and he will never walk again. Word on Monday about the charges gives his family some relief.
“We are happy. We feel somewhat vindicated, that something has been done. It’s been five-and-a-half weeks. In the meantime, Tommy was airlifted to Colorado. But we still hope to find the shooter,” Dushoff said.
Police also want the shooter, but won’t say if their close to catching him.
Tom Urbanski also plans to file charges. He says ‘Pacman’ Jones is on his list.
Since being drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2005, Jones has been questioned by police in ten different incidents including fights, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
