Porn Valley- I talked to Cindy Crawford on the set of Lauren Phoenix’s Kiss My Ass. Phoenix is now directing for Defiance/Torrid, and Crawford is also about to do so as well. Meanwhile, Crawford’s been working for VCA/Hustler and Wicked.
“I’m going to be directing for Defiance Films the first of October,” says Crawford who predicts her directorial debut will be full of all kinds of nastiness, although she has not title for it as yet.
“I have a meeting to go all over the details,” she says.
Crawford will start off shooting gonzo and hopes that it will pave her way to doing features. Otherwise, Crawford’s been hardly behaving, she laughs. “I’ve been doing a lot of anal lately. I’ve been hit with a lot of big scripts and I’m having fun with it. I love being contracted and am in the market for another contract. I’m very much open to the idea.”
Crawford refers to her old JKP days as being very glamorous. “I got to pick my talent and pick the name of my movies,” says Crawford. “And I usually got to pick my boxcovers- things like that. But I’m looking for a contract that not only allows me to be talent but I’d like to direct and produce, stuff like that as well. I’m looking for stuff that will move me forward.” Crawford had been in the business about three weeks when she, originally, signed up with Simon Wolf Productions.
“That was for two days,” she laughs. “He wasn’t giving me the money he promised and he never paid me. I was promised money up front and it never came so I terminated that contract.” Crawford said it was then a matter of JKP finding her. But that was about six months after the Simon Wolf fiasco. “I put the word out I was looking for the contract.” Meanwhile, Crawford continued to work for select companies.
“I wasn’t going too hardcore, too gonzo at the time,” she recalls. “I hadn’t done anal, then I started doing that with JKP when they fell. I love anal but I don’t want to be all over the place on every shelf in everyone’s face all the time.”I then asked Crawford about the now-famous story of her being detained by Canadian customs.
“I went over to Canada for Hot Parade,” she says. “It’s like a little Saturday Night Live for adult. When me and Tyra Banxxx flew over there to do the show, we got stopped by customs because they said I had too many pairs of panties in my bag and I wasn’t carrying a wallet. They were, what are you going over there for? I said a vacation. Like no credit cards and this many pairs of panties! They stopped us for four hours. It was horrible. They just sit you off to the side.” Crawford swears there were no rubber gloves or cavity searches involved in those four hours in customs.
“Then the producers of Hot Parade called down,” says Crawford. “They said they were good friends of ours and that we were just going over there for vacation. So they let us in.”
