Porn Valley- XXX calls me Friday morning. We chat about a bunch of things. I tell XXX the story I heard about some porn company in the Valley vacating their building Thursday because they got a “tip” that a Federal task force in unmarked cars was coming to look at their 2257 paperwork.

XXX then says there’s some new word on Bob Friedland. That Friedland didn’t quit JKP. It was more like Friedland going through the bathroom window. “I heard he just sold everything and packed up and left,” says XXX. “Resign? He didn’t resign. He just didn’t show one day. I hear the house was sold; the cars were sold. They don’t know where he is. He took his dog and fucked off. This is what I hear. I can’t see JKP going much longer. Jill Kelly’s gone. Friedland’s gone. A ton of money is gone. I heard that when Friedland got this stock market thing going that he paid most of his debts with stocks. Regarding 2257, XXX says your shit should be organized. “You’re shooting movies. One thing about the porno business even though most of the cocksuckers I deal with I wouldn’t piss on ’em if they were on fire in the streets. They’ll steal your last fuckin’ dollar. But nobody wants kids to be involved with this.” I suspect that one thing that 2257 will do is kill the compilation market. Scenes are being sold without paperwork. Scenes are being bought without paperwork. I hear a story that a very, very reputable company was selling comps at Erotica L.A. claiming in the packets of comps they were selling that all scenes were shot before 1995. However if you looked at the individual boxes, the scenes were shot after 1997. There’s no paperwork for any those scenes. I saw one of those boxes- it has Monica Sweetheart on the boxcover. Yeah, those scenes were shot before 1995. Sheesh.

But I obviously agree with XXX on the kiddie porn issue. “But if the federal government is so obsessed with putting an end to kiddie porn, you don’t look to this industry,” I said. “You better look into your little hamlets in this country and see who your civic leaders are. Day in and day out the arrests being made involve doctors, lawyers, teachers, ministers, coaches- those placed in positions of authority over kids. All the time. These are the people who are trafficking in it.”
