Call for Entries and Submission Guidelines
CineKink is currently accepting submissions for its 2024 season. The organization seeks works that celebrate and explore a wide diversity of sexuality. CineKink encourages the positive depiction of sexuality in film and television, and its annual film festival, CineKink NYC, is a primary platform for this mission.
The festival considers offerings from both Hollywood and independent productions, ranging from explicit to non-explicit content. Genres accepted include documentary, drama, camp comedy, and experimental films. Submissions can range from "mildly spicy to quite explicit."
Submissions should clearly fit the festival's "sex-focused niche." If the synopsis does not make this clear, submitters are asked to include a comment explaining how their work aligns with the festival's theme. All genres are considered, and there are no restrictions on production completion dates, provided the submission is a finished work. Premiere status is not required for consideration, but the festival requests that works refrain from any public NYC screenings in the month leading up to the CineKink festival dates.
Feature works are defined as those longer than 40 minutes, while shorts are 40 minutes and under. The festival also accepts submissions for original digital series.
Awards and Recognition
CineKink presents several awards to recognize outstanding works. These include the CineKink - Feature Film: Audience Choice Award, the CineKink - Short Film and Series: Best of Fest Award, and the CineKink - Excerpt: Bring It! Award. An award for CineKink - original digital series is also presented.
CineKink has been described as "New York’s naughtiest film festival" by the Wall Street Journal and as "High-class smut…" by SF Weekly. The organization is in its 23rd year, having run since 2004.
