from www.thedenverchannel.com – Carrie Ann Lucas is used to road work at the corner of Colfax and Elati streets in Denver.

“I’m an attorney and I work at the court house across the street,” said Lucas.

But what Lucas wasn’t used to was seeing some city workers at a car wash outside the gentlemen’s club Diamond Cabaret on Friday.

“There was an asphalt paving truck parked at the Diamond Cabaret,” said Lucas. “There were a bunch of the ladies throughout the car wash and they were posing on the hood of the truck.”

Lucas said she understands city road crews need a lunch break, but not this kind, and not on taxpayers’ dime.

“At least two of the workers took off their shirts to pose with the ladies on the truck,” said Lucas.

7NEWS asked the city about the car wash incident and its policy when it comes to dealing with certain behaviors.

“Denver Public Works is looking into the situation. We’ll identify who the operators are and appropriate action will be taken,” said Daelene Mix, spokeswoman for Denver Public Works.

Mix said the city does not support the actions of these employees and that there will be repercussions for this type of action.

“I’m sure the city has mechanisms for washing their trucks,” said Lucas. “I don’t think the mechanism is to wash their car at a car wash, run by strippers at the Diamond Cabaret.”

The city plans to look into the matter more on Monday.
