from www.scotsman.com – FORMER television and stage star Craig Chalmers has lifted the lid on his new career as a porn performer in a bizarre online interview.

The clip sees the former Any Dream Will Do contestant and his wife – who is also a porn star – being questioned on his shock move into adult entertainment by a bespectacled talk show host who takes a shine to Chalmers’ other half.

In the spoof clip, broadcast on an internet channel, Chalmers, 31, is ignored by the nerdy presenter – dubbed Porn Critic – who appears much more interested in getting intimate with the actor’s scantily-clad wife, Jennifer Smith, than the answers.

The seven-minute interview sees Chalmers, who hails from from East Craigs in West Edinburgh:

• Reveal that he bases his porn acting on Hollywood star Matt Damon;

• Boast that his X-rated career is “busy” and “going really well;

• Open up about his unconventional marriage to his porn star wife – known in the industry as Jasmine Jae.

He says: “We are excited to be here and want to talk about upcoming things we have going on.”

On their relationship, Chalmers says: “Jasmine and I try to have an understanding in terms of our relationship before we do our scenes. It’s a trust thing and we talk a lot and make sure we are both comfortable at all times, before, after and when we are not working.”

As the interview progresses, his wife becomes increasingly amorous with the presenter – much to Chalmers’ displeasure.

“Stop right there,” he erupts. “We are supposed to be having a interview. This is my first interview and you’re supposed to be interviewing us as porn stars [but you’re] just hitting on Jasmine.

“It’s not professional and not what I expected.”

The film ends with the interviewer leading Jasmine into another room and a cuckolded Chalmers looking despondent and texting on his phone.

However, the provocative satire has angered women’s groups, who described all pornography as “exploitation”.

A spokeswoman from Women’s Support project said: “[We] see the porn industry as based on exploitation – not just of women but of anyone who is disadvantaged or vulnerable. In a supposed ‘critique’ of the porn industry – this feature does little to cover any reality of the industry and instead parodies the role and position of women within it, with Jasmine Jae clearly shown in narrow stereotypical ways”

Chalmers was exposed as a porn star last October by the Evening News as he was gearing up to play Prince Charming in a production of Cinderella in Dunfermline.

He was later released from the pantomime and has since embraced the adult entertainment industry.

CRAIG Chalmers had his first taste of fame in 2003, when he faced talent judge Simon Cowell on the ITV show Pop Idol.

He appeared on hit talent contest Any Dream Will Do in 2007, in which West End hopefuls competed for the chance to play the lead role in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

The then 25-year-old came fifth after being voted out in the eighth week of the ten-week reality TV competition.

Despite his exit, he was invited to join the cast of a Joseph production by theatre guru Bill Kenwright and toured the UK for three years, playing 1500 shows.

He also recorded a hit album, Dream On, with other Any Dream stars, in 2007, and in February 2008, the group sold out the London Palladium.

Since leaving the Joseph production in 2010, Chalmers has starred in two pantomimes – in Carlisle in 2010-11 as Will Barrow, and as Aladdin in Dunfermline 2011-12.
