I sent Summer this email:
“I write for Fox Magazine and other adult publications (Oui, Club, etc.) and I love anything to do with hot sapphic sex…. Please keep me posted about the gangbang’s progress. (Who signs up for it, etc.) It’s exactly the kind of thing I love to write about.”
A fairly innocent request, I thought. Thus I wasn’t prepared for the response from Summer’s spouse, Craig Valentine:
“Joe we are not interested in having you there… If you were wanted i would have invited you.”
It was bizarre on several counts. I hadn’t asked to attend. (And if I had? Their press releases implied that there’d be more reporters than Princess Di’s funeral, so why give a big Fuck You to a writer for some of porn’s biggest magazines?) And the tone of his email was so arrogant, as if he was going out of his way to turn me, a huge fan of what Summer was planning, into a detractor. Well, he succeeded.
