from www.10tv.com – NEWARK, Ohio — A Heath man was sentenced to four years in prison on Tuesday after he admitted raping an Alzheimer’s patient.
Donald Moore, 71, pleaded no contest to rape and sexual battery, 10TV’s Maureen Kocot reported.

Prosecutors said that in April, while driving a van for the Licking County Aging Program, Moore sexually assaulted the woman.

A Good Samaritan spotted the van parked near a nature trail in Granville and discovered the victim wearing only a bra.

Licking County sheriff’s investigators said that Moore confessed that he sexually assaulted the woman but told detectives he thought she liked it.

Investigators said that the woman was incapable of giving consent.

Moore, who barely has the use of his legs and is battling cancer, offered no apologies in court, Kocot reported.

The Licking County Aging Program told 10TV News that it runs criminal background checks on every driver and Moore was never in trouble with the law.
