Be Efficient Posts: April Carter aka Diana Devoe lost her home to foreclosure on February 2, 2009. She was renting the "illegal" garage and the front house out to tenants. She took the rent monies that she received from her tenants and did not pay the mortgage on the house.
The City of Los Angeles was called out to her property to inspect the property because of complaints of unlivable conditions. Ms. Carter received a sub-standard order from The City Of Los Angeles to vacate the property within 30 days of the order. She ignored the order and left her tenants to live in a garage.
The Gas Company was called out to inspect a gas leak within the structure. What he found was amazing. Not only did the inspector find several gas leaks within the illegal garage, one of the leaks happens to be right under the intake of an Electric Heat Pump that she installed. The Heat Pump was also installed right next to a Gas Hot Water Heater. Both appliances were located in a closet.
Ms. Carter is responsible for the installation of the Electric Heat Pump in the closet. The Gas Company red-tagged the brand new Electric Heat Pump. He red-tagged another gas line. The Electric Heat Pump was installed incorrectly. Ms. Carter's tenants lives were at risk in her death-trap of a garage with no rear exit. The upstairs bedrooms' windows are of course too high for anyone to get out of in the event of a fire.
April Carter is about to get sued. Maybe twice. She has a court date coming up on Feb. 19, 2009 in Chatsworth on Penfield Ave. Her ex-tenants filmed her attending her own foreclosure. It's filmed in a "reality tv" style format. The tenant walked right up to the auction and filmed the whole event while April Carter aka Diana Devoe tried to duck the camera.
